| 107. Once More, With Feeling (Thanks to Lea for the Episode Guide.) Original Air Date: November 06, 2001 Written by: Joss Whedon Directed by: Joss Whedon This musical episode opens showing Willow, Tara, and Dawn getting ready for their day, while Buffy lays in bed. That night Buffy, while on patrol, sings about just �going through the motions� since she has returned. She slays vampires but just can�t seem to care about doing it or about anything else. The next day at the Magic Box, Buffy hesitates, then asks if any of them burst into song last night. They stare at her then Giles, Xander, Anya, along with Tara and Willow all talk at once, stating that they did start singing as though they were in a musical. They discover it�s not just them but that the whole town is singing. They began to do research after singing about theories on if it�s a demon or not. Anya sings a rock-type song about bunnies perhaps being the cause. Willow and Tara announce to the group that they have more books they need to look at, at home and leave. Tara sings about being under Willow�s spell and how much she loves her. When Xander and Anya wake the next day they share a duet about how they�re afraid of their upcoming wedded life. Anya wonders if Xander will want her when she�s old. Xander worries about Anya�s ex-demon status. They later tell Giles that they didn�t want to sing the stuff they were singing about but it just happened. So when people are singing they are telling the truth whether they want to or not. Giles discovers that some people have been found burned up from the inside. Buffy tracks down Spike who tries to get her to leave before he starts singing. She doesn�t and he sings about how it makes him feel when she hangs around him now, because her friends wouldn�t understand what�s going on with her. He tells her to let him �rest in peace�. Back at Buffy�s house Dawn and Tara talk and Dawn mentions the fight Willow and Tara had that Tara doesn�t remember. Tara goes to the Magic Box to research a flower she found earlier under her pillow and discovers it�s an ingredient for a spell to make someone forget. Back at the house Dawn starts to sing when two Pinocchio like demons kidnap her. When she awakes at the Bronze she tries to escape and meets the head demon, Sweet. He tells her that after all the singing is done, he will take her with him to be his 'Bride'. After finding out Buffy is the slayer he sends for her. Buffy comes to the Bronze after Giles tells her she will have to defeat the demon alone. On the way there she sings about �wanting the fire back�. Giles decides it�s best to help Buffy and he, Xander, Anya, Willow and Tara go to help her. After being rebuffed earlier by Buffy, Spike makes his way to the Bronze. Giles and the others arrive and Buffy sings about being in heaven, not in hell like they thought. She dances wildly, and starts to smoke like she will catch on fire and Spike stops her. Sweet tells them they have defeated him and it turns out Xander invoked him, not Dawn like he thought. He leaves and the groups sings �where do we go from here� and Spike leaves. Buffy catches up to Spike outside and they share a long, lingering kiss. |
