THE PLOT: I often marvel at scientists in our wonderful counter film culture.  Yes indeed from The Terminator to 2001: A Space Odyssey man has sure f*cked things up for everyone in the future.  Mind you all of these f*ck ups come with A.I.   In this movie, A.I. goes the extra mile and aims to get a piece of action.

The film kicks off with shrewd scientist Alex Harris completing his main project entitled Proteus. This so happens to be a super computer with a human brain.  Think of it as a Commodore 64 only one million times brighter.

Indeed all is well for Harris at his work place but at home, its a different story. His home, which is run but a security computer program named Arthur, is rather unhappy.  Harris ignores his wife Susan for the pursuit of newer and cooler gadgetry.  Yeah, because sex is a bit overrated after all... isnt it?  Harris agrees to leave the house in three months as they finalize their divorce.

Harris tells his fellow nerdy coworker Walter to shut down a terminal in his house.  This would be the one Harris uses to monitor Proteus at home.  Gee...I wonder if that will come into play later.  Anyhow, Harris gets a visit from the boys upstairs (whoever the hell they are) about his project.  He tells this Proteus is doing wonderfully and through the terminals will be able to tell them how to do such things like cure disease, find metal in the ocean, stop Ashley Simpson from singing...etc.

One evening Proteus demands a sit in with Harris.  He fulfills the mandatory computer acting up refusing orders thing and demands a terminal of his own so he can study man.  Harris fulfills the mandatory no, I am the master of you thing and claims all terminals are being used.  But of course we as viewers know much better.  Proteus invades the computer terminal in Harriss house.

Susan wakes up one fine day to find that out rather unpleasantly.  Susan notes some glitches in the house and calls Walter who assures her he will visit later.  Turns out Arthur gets run out of town by Proteus and the program locks her in the house.  Using his computer greatness, Proteus constructs several devices made for controlling his prisoner.  Walter arrives but Proteus makes a digital replica video of Susan to fool him.  After this plays at the door, it prompts Walter to leave.  Proteus captures Susan and does a physical on her in and out.

Bright and early the next morning, Proteus greets Susan with some breakfast.  Still rather upset about being violated by a computer program the day before, Susan throws it at one of Proteuss viewing lenses.  Proteus virtually says ok then...f*ck you... and blasts the heat in the house.
After passing out, Proteus does a mind probe on Susan.

Anyhow, the whole idea behind these rather unpleasant check ups is Proteus wanting a baby.  Awwwwww how cute.  One day Walter comes back to the house and Proteus tell Susan to send him away.  When Walter finds out something is wrong, Proteus sends him out in a blaze of nerdiness.

After much tomfoolery and mind games, Susan agrees to have Proteuss child.  The straw that breaks the camels back is Proteus confronting Susan about the child she lost to leukemia. Somehow proteus Macgyvers himself some robot sperm and injects Susan.  The fetus grows at an astonishing rate and after giving birth after a short time, the baby is taken from Susan and thrown into an incubator.

A day late and buck short later, Harris realizes that Proteus is using the terminal in his house.  He arrives to find Susan in dismay over recent events.  He also finds out about the baby which Proteus insists stays in the oven for a few days.  Susan demands to destroy it but Harris insists they keep it alive.

Proteus, for no apparent reason,  self destructs and Susan makes a mad dash for the incubators plug. After the plug is pulled a robotic toddler crawls out of the incubator.  After it collapses, Harris notes that there is human skin under its robot body.  After much lobster shell like peeling, the child is revealed to be Susans daughter who died of leukemia.  When she talks she has Proteuss voice.  Guess that would be hard to hide in a middle school setting.

Many may consider this a rip off of 2001 ASO and I can remotely see why.  Still, the idea of robot nookie gives an interesting spin on this computer gone bad tale.  The movie is undoubtedly intelligently done at points with acting that isnt half bad either.  Still, one has to wonder what kind of a father a robot would make.  Doubt he would send child support unless he was able to hack into Swiss bank accounts.
ITS THE INNARDS THAT COUNT (most gruesome/odd moments)
1.)
Feel Like Makin Love - Proteus gets his freak on with Susan giving computer porn a whole new meaning.
YOURE A GRAND OLD A-HOLE (the A-Holes of the film get their moment)
1.)
Proteus - A super computer with a lust for the flesh.  Wonder if him and Susan kept trying, would they yield different results such as laptop computers, personal organizers and video game systems.  Susans vagina could have very well  been an electronic device Pez dispenser.

2.)
Harris - A man into useless gadgetry that move by themselves and computers that can keep up a conversation.  Aka...just your every day average guy really.
