The modern portrait of Barnabas Collins
The Old House
It was just another normal night in Collinsport,Maine. Dark. Dreary. A storm moving in from the horizon. Nothing out of the ordinary...or so it seemed. In the woods near the Old House on the Collins estate, Voices and Time converge to transport someone from the past who would alter the lives of the Collns family. But unlike the norm, this person wasn't out to wreak havoc and evil. This person had come to ask for help. From whom you may ask? Why...Barnabas Collins.....

The inside of the Old House was aglow with all the blue-candled candelabras' lit in the drawing room looking just as it would have over 318 years ago...Great care was taken in the restoration of the house to resurrect a time once lived. All the wallpaper and furniture; even beloved Josettes room was restored to its original beauty. The only noticable difference was in the portrait of the 21st century version of the master of the house over the fireplace.
Barnabas Collins was relaxing comfortably in his night coat by the fire in his favorite armchair. He was a handsome man in his middle to late 20's  bearing the unforgetable old world charm and personality dominant in the Collins Family line. But by just looking at the man, you wouldn't think he lived a supernatural existance. Quite the contrary! Despite what he tells people, he is the original Barnabas Collins. That is, the Barnabas that lived in the year 1795. Son of Joshua and Naomi, Sister of Sarah, Cousin of Milicent, Nephew of Jeremiah and Abigail. The real thing! But the reason of his still living these 318 years later isn't,at times, for him, fantastic in the pleasent sense. Barnabas Collins is,or should I say was, a vampire. A curse the result of evil jealousy felt by Angelique Bouchard, the maid of Barnabas' beloved bride to be Josette Du'Pres. When Barnabas' father discovered what he was, he couldn't bring himself to kill his son. So he chained him in a coffin until Willie Loomis mistakenly set him free in 1966. Since then many things happened most importantly with the help of Dr. Julia Hoffman, Dr. Eric Lang and Prof. Elliot Stokes, he was able to over come his curse with a series of extrordinary experiments. But even after all that, one thing still remains. Angelique was and still is the cause of most of the torment in his life and he loathes her for it. No matter how hard he trys, he can never get rid of her!!

This night, as Barnabas warms himself by the fire, he works very busily on a document. Barnabas has decided to rewrite the Collins Family History; to leave out nothing. As anyone personally familiar with the Collins family knows, their history book is full of holes! Any thing that was shamefull or "reputation-damagable" was kept a secret.Starting with 1795 he will record everything that occured. All the detailed accounts of Angelique being a witch and destorying their lives. Victoria Winers being transported back in time and convicted as a witch by disgusting 'Reverend Trask'...Josette's fatefull fall from Widows Hill.... Then he will record all the delimas' of the 1897 household in which he used I-ching, and ancient Chinese black arts ritual, to travel to. Barnabas plans to give a timeline of Quentin Collins life and tell of his werewolf curse and Count Petofi wreaking havoc on members of the family with his evil powered hand. And we mustn't forget Lady Kitty Hampshire whom Barnabas believed was the true reincarnation of Josette.  Then there's also Laura the Pheonix!
Maybe I should mention how I bust my ass for some of these people and didn't get much appreciation!? Barnabas thought. This is turning more and more into a Memoir of my life then the family's history!. Perhaps thats what I should make it!..So many things to remember! I'll definately need Julia's help!
A tall hooded figure was making its way from the woods up to the Old House. So many thoughts and memories racing through the mind. Not much has changed.....Feels like I'm finally coming home.....Am I doing the right thing?....Will he believe me??
Barnabas puts down his pen and paper. "Thats enough for tonight." he said. "If I try to think anymore I'll go crazy!" As he puts out most of the candles, he has no idea there's a very unexpected visitor  on the stoop this very moment. He makes his way up the stairs when finally there's a rap at the door.
Who in the world?...he thought as he made his way to the door. Tensions mount for the person on the other side. Her hearts in her throat as the door is unlatched and creeked open. "Yes?"
                                                 "Hello Uncle Barnabas.."
