| REVIEWS : : Red Bull : : I wanted to start with a standard, something many people have heard of, before getting into more obscure, hard-to-find drinks. Red Bull is an old Thai concoction "discovered" by an Austrian businessman, & the first energy-drink to be marketed in the U.S. The formula is all business & fairly effective. Caffeine is the stimulant & mood enhancer, there's about twice as much in a Red Bull as a can of Coke. Taurine is an amino acid, Glucuronolactone a carbohydrate. these provide the fuel. B-Vitamins 3, 5, 6, & 12 provide chemicals necessary to allow, start, and sustain the cellular metabolism of these fuels into energy. As e-drinks go, Red Bull's flavor is pretty mild, a light citruissy sweet flavor with a slight kick to the aftertaste. It comes in the standard e-drink size, $2 per minican. I'd reccomend it for those new to e-drinks & for frequent consumption. It's mild enough not to result in the "dissolving teeth" sensation caused by some of the harsher energy drinks. Score: 4 |
