Rogue rolled her eyes as she listened to her teammate gush about the Mutant Ball with excitement. " Calm down Kitty. You know the ball is Professer X and Magneto's plan to unite mutants around the country. Especially since Apocalypse's release. All major mutant groups are going to be there. The idea is we stand stronger when we stand together." Jean said. Rogue rolled her eyes again. After Jean left, Kitty said, " Are you going with anyone Rogue? The invitation says we have to bring an escort. You know Jean is going with Sco--" " Ah'm not going anyways. Seeing a bunch of freaks like us dressed up in tuxedos? Isn't mah idea of a good time. " Although Rogue was secretly disappointed that Scott was going with Jean, not her, she was starting to recover from her crush on him. " The Prof said we all have to go...Even you. Hey, why don't you ask Magneto's flunkie? You know, Gambit or something? You did kiss him." " Ah was under Mesmero's control. Maybe Mesmero's got a crush on him," Rogue retorted. He teleported away and Kitty saw the smirk forming on Rogue's face. Kitty quickly phased through to wall to avoid any akward questions from Rogue. December 2 Kitty burst through the room her and Rogue shared. Startling Rogue, who was reading The Art of War, Kitty sounded exasperated. " Two more days until the ball and he still hasn't asked me!" "Who, Laaance?" Rogue teased but she too, was a little worried because no one has asked her either. " Yeah..." Kitty blushed. Rogue pretended to be shocked as if Kitty and Lance's relationship had been a complete secret. " Even Toad has a date! It seems like we're the only two people not asked to the ball yet." Kitty pouted as the intercom buzzed. Kitty, You have a delivery. " It's probably just the pizza that I ordered a while ago," Kitty said, sounding disappointed. After she left, Rogue put on a jacket to read outside in the bitter cold. Amara gasped. " Who sent you those beautiful roses, Kitty?" " Nobody want's me either so Ah guess it would make sense to go with each other huh?" They smiled at each other and then Rogue continued reading. To her suprise, Remy stayed and read with her for the next two hours until Rogue had to go inside for a session in the Danger Room. |
