| Lance Alvers is supposed to be a 'tough guy' and a guy who doesn't follow rules. Basically 'anti-Scott Summers'. He is the sort of leader of the Brotherhood although with Magneto's recent parcipitation in the Brotherhood, Pietro (Quicksilver) and Lance have had a sort of shared leadership. Lance, although he seems like a rebellios troublemaker, has a soft side for Kitty Pryde (Shadowcat) of the X-men. He even (Joyride) joined the X-men to get close to Kitty. Lance is an orphan , he accidently killed his parents when he first harvested his power of geological manipulation (making earthquakes). He is moved to Bayville from a suburb of Chicago in Illinois ( That's where Kitty's from, they went to the same school before they both moved to Bayville but Lance and Kitty never really noticed each other until they found out they were both mutants) under foster care (he destroyed his old school with earthquakes) and there he is recruited by Mystique, the shape shifter who started the Brotherhood. He first appears in Evolution in the episode X-Impulse where he's spray painting the lockers with red paint. Kitty is discovering her power to move through walls and that's when Lance and Kitty first meet. He tries to get her to steal test answers but the X-men stop her and recruit her. From then on, there is a rivalry between Lance and Scott (Lance can whup Scott's butt) because they're leaders of the opposite mutant teams. Recently though, he kind of lost his leadership in the Brotherhood since Magneto's involvement, Magneto's son, Pietro (Quicksilver) has been acting leader of the Brotherhood. Oh yeah, and he drives a green jeep and plays the electric guitar. |
