Go back to What's REALLY New ^_^
June 10, 1998: Put up a new Logo from Jjukil! Put up Mohamme's Translate DQ Graphic! Copy it and put it up on your page if you have a site! Get the word on the streets!
Added Jjukil's site link! Note: All of Squareplanet's sites are down. That means RPGe, Dejap, Neo Demiforce, and Firebell are all down :( I hope somebody is taking on all these sites that are engaged in DQ projects so that we can continue to check progress.
May 28, 1998: Fixed link to RPGe
Added a new tune from everybody's favorite DQ fanwork dynamo Jjukil on the DW4 page. Check out the Akemto remix!
Unfortunately, most of the rest of the new additions are those ones that work in midi players, but crash browsers and media player. Here's the list.
Whole load of new unidentified tunes on the Unknown page. Grab the zips, play them in a MIDI player, and identify them for me!
DW1 Page- New version of ending, more instruments than the old one. DW4 Page- New Coliseum, New battle Ruler of Evil, and Batlle with Necrosaro added. DQ6 Page- Continue your quest, A new better version of Dragon, Two new versions of Ocean, Odd slow version of the overworld music, and Tower music added.
I've got a lot of secret projects in the works, so keep an eye on Dustin's page for lots of new stuff coming ^_^
Apr. 30, 1998: Cleaned up all the "What's New" entries which didn't have file updates
New Midis! There are now new versions of DW4 Coliseum, a really fast paced version of the DW4 Theme music, and a new version of the DQ6 battle music.
There are also some brand spankin' new tunes! On the DW4 page, the ending music is now up. Check the DQ6 page for the Pegasus music and the Ocean music. (These names may be corrected as I pull the SNES out and check them)
I will also now be putting a red "NEW!" Next to all midis from the most recent update. Once I update again, these "new"'s will be removed and only the most recently uploaded files will have them.
These tunes came from Pastel Midilin (linked below in earlier update) or from Here.
Apr. 19, 1998: Before I start getting e-mail about it, I want to state something real quick here. I am aware that my midis are being uploaded to RPGamer. The first set from DW1 was uploaded without my knowledge, but I have been in communication with the webmasters since then. I agreed to not oppose use of the tunes from my page so long as they link back to me.
I will moniter RPGamer pretty closely as they expand into DQ coverage under the new "all RPG" strategy. So long as they are not infringing on other DQ pages individuality, they can only help the DQ community by adding the massive Square.Net fanbase to those informed of the wonderful Dragon Quest series. And when that link-back to me goes up, those in that fanbase will have a link to all the existing pages. Those of you to whom I'm linked directly and indirectly will surely see an increase in hits after that ^_^
File updates! MuuMuu has identified the remaining tune in the DQ5 section as "Alas, thou hast died". Thank ye MuuMuu! He also provided some additional information, along with Cie Siyavash Sharp, about some of the town tunes in DQ5 and their descriptions have been changed to reflect this.
That only leaves one tune on the unknowns page which I don't have a name for. More and more as I listen to it, I think that one is a Final Fantasy song and not DQ. But since I got it in a DQ Zip file, I'll leave it up until it's proven positively otherwise.
New Tunes! On the DQ6 page look for a remix of the Theme music. On the DW2 page I now have a copy of the Shrine music. On the DW3 page, yet another remix of Castle (This one is REALLY remixed! Give it a listen!). On the DW4 page, there is a remixed version of the Theme music.
All of these new tunes came from Japanese pages, including Pastel Midilin which I linked to in an earlier update below.
Mar. 18, 1998: Added one new link. Added a second version of Akemto town from DW4 (Submitted by Jjukil). Removed Bad Town from DW4 after L Turner pointed out it was Phantom Ship from DW3. (Hey, I'm not perfect ^_^) Cleaned all "What's New's" that didn't list file updates off this page
Feb. 28, 1998: Added a request page... but you don't care about that now do you! Here's the list of new midis! A lot of nice remixed versions in this update. Japanese web surfing pays off yet again!
Dragon Warrior 1- Added three brand new tunes. A true to original version of the cave music, the battle music, and the ending music. Also added another version of the Dragonlord battle music.
Dragon Warrior 2- Added a remixed version of the Malroth battle music
Dragon Warrior 3- Added a second version of the credits music and Phantom Ship. Added a third version of Zoma battle music. Brand new remixed versions of Ramia, Town music, and Castle music (two of those)
Dragon Warrior 4- Added a massive medely of DW4 music (125k) in a single midi. Added remixed versions of Alena's theme, Nara and Mara's Theme, and the Hero leading the Wagon music.
Dragon Quest 5- Added a remixed version of the battle music.
Dragon Quest 6- Added a third version of the Castle music and a second version of the real world overworld music.
These midis came from Here. With my limited Japanese knowledge and lack of a browser capable of reading it, this is as close as I can come for the moment to crediting the authors of these new tunes.
Square.Net is back and in full operation! Yippe!
Feb. 21, 1998: Two new versions in DW1. Two brand new midis in DW2 and 5 new versions. Two new versions in DW3. Three new versions in DW4. DQ5 page has expanded massively! 8 brand new midis. Plus, 12 new versions! That's 20 new DQ5 for your listening pleasure!
Update #2 of the day, Cie has identified a bunch of those new DQ5 midis, and a second confirmation of one from 3 came in, so it's been moved to the DW3 page (Phantom Ship) DW3 Dead also confirmed from the unknowns page. Only one left there and one in DQ5!
