As in Eternal Duelist Soul, straight-up dueling is the point of the new game, but World Wide Edition has several
features that will make it the new gold standard. The single-player game
offers a quest through Battle City, a thriving metropolis where
seemingly everybody wants to duel you. As you duel, you'll earn points
that affect the quality of cards you receive, the more you win, the
better the cards. Dueling, and having conversations with the bystanders,
also advances the in-game calendar. It's important to keep ticking off
the days, as you can only duel at major events on Saturdays and you'll
get fresh cards delivered every Monday in your copy of the 'Duelist
Weekly.' As you move through time, you'll also move from neighbourhood
to neighbourhood. New challengers will be around every corner, and their
cards are yours for the taking.
You can build a powerful deck just by
playing the game, entering codes from actual trading cards or trading
virtual cards with your friends via Game Link Cable. The real thrill of
World Wide Edition is competing against your friends, even friends who
don't speak your language. World Wide Edition lives up to it's name by
giving you the option to play in German, Italian and Spanish.
