"Creation of adam"-In the biblical story of the Creation, God created Adam, the first man, in his own image, from dust. This account from the Book of Genesis follows a common type of creation myth found in many religions the world over. In this fresco from the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo depicted God, in human form, giving Adam the breath of life.
"Madonna and Child"-
Madonna and Child, tempera on wood by the Italian artist and monk Fra Filippo Lippi, was painted c. 1455. It is an example of Renaissance painting in which layers of transparent paint are built up slowly to achieve a luminous effect. The deep space in the background is typically Renaissance; in this case, the landscape is probably the Arno
"The Legend of St Ursula"-
Active mainly in Venice, Italian painter Vittore Carpaccio created pageant works full of anecdotal detail. Painted between 1490 and 1495, St Ursula and her Betrothed Meet and Are Blessed by the Pope is one in a cycle of nine paintings illustrating the life of St Ursula. It is in the Academy of Fine Arts, Venice.
St. Ursula (and the 11 thousand virgins) was a daughter of a British Christian king betrothed to a pagan prince. She wished to preserve her virginity and said to her father that she could accept the marriage on condition that the prince's father gave her ten most noble virgins, each with a thousand virgins in her service, and would be allowed three years to consider. The virgins embarked a ship; after sea passage, they went up the Rhine as far as Colonge, later sailed on to Basel, after pilgrimage to Rome, where rhey met the Pope, they returned to Colonge. The frustrated Ursula's fianc fired an arrow at her, which pierced her breast. Her companions were put to the sword by a king of the Huns.
"Mona Lisa", or La Gioconda (La Joconde), is a 16th-century oil painting on poplar wood by Leonardo da Vinci and is, perhaps, the most famous painting in Western art history or even the world. Few other works of art are as romanticised, celebrated, or reproduced. It is owned by the French government and hangs in the Muse du Louvre in Paris.
The painting shows a woman looking out at the viewer with what is described as an "enigmatic smile".
"helen of troy"-In Greek mythology, Helen was reputed to be the most beautiful woman in the world. Her abduction by Paris brought about the Trojan War.

Luna's "Spolarium" were both acclaimed in Europe as masterpieces of Filipino painting. In 1884, Luna won the first Gold medal at the Exposicion Nacional de Bellas Artes for his "Spolarium." This monumental painting, shown at the right, shows fallen gladiators being dragged to an unseen pile of corpses in a chamber beneath the Roman arena. After World War II, the Neo-Realist school of painting emerged, with such notable members as Vicente Manansala, Hernando R. Ocampo, Victor Edades, Arturo Rogerio Luz, Jose T. Joya, and others.
