RPT - "Shriek"
Unique Powered Armor System
This unique armor system consists of body armor with an experimental Intangability (or Phase) field. No one is exactly sure who produces the armor, but it has been confirmed that it is not the Promethians of Center (Phase World). Stormspire technicians have determined that the armor seems to be developed on Rifts Earth. Other than that, no one seems to know its origin.

***SHRIEK Shield - 700. Each time it is activated, it has the full 700 M.D.C. available.
* Destroying the helmet is 70% likely to knock pilot unconscious. If he remains conscious, no power armor bonuses are applicable (and the bare head is now an available target).
** Depleting the M.D.C. of the Main Body causes the armor to shut down; and it activates the self-destruct system 1D4 melees later (doing 4D6�10+100 M.D. to a 4 ft. radius centered on the armor. Note that when the M.D.C. of a wing is depleted, it automatically retracts into the wing housing. The Wing Housing contains a nano-bot repair system, that repairs the wings (only) at a rate of 1 M.D.C. per 10 minutes. If the wings retract while the armor is in flight, the hoversystem will automatically land the armor.
***The SHRIEK Shield is experimental. It can only be activated for a maximum of 6 melees at a time, after which it must recharge for 10 minutes. The shield completely encircles the armor. All attacks strike the shield while it is up (it appears as a shimmering light field around the armor). The Pilot cannot fire any weapons through the SHRIEK Shield; he must lower it to fire. However, flight is still possible.
Height: 6 1/2 feet; the armor only comes in a size that could accomodate a pilot of about 5 to 5 and a half feet tall.
Width: 27 inches; the wings extend out to an 8 foot span.

Power system: Experimental Anti-Matter Flux Furnace. Life Expectancy = about 70 years
Speed: Running 50 mph max. Pilot tires at 20% the normal rate due to ext-skeleton.
Leaping: 15 feet. Hover jet assisted leap; 200 feet up and up to 350 feet across, or hover stationary at 50 feet up.
Flying: 300 mph (cruise 180 mph) with wings retacted. With wings extended, top speed is an amazing Mach 9 in atmosphere, Mach 18 in space (cruising speed about 500 mph). It can survive re-entry into the atmosphere with the SHRIEK Shield up.
Flying Range: Without wings; about 5 minutes. With wings extended, about 28 hours at cruising speeds, and about 10 hours at Mach speeds (engines require 2 hours of cooling after that time).
Black Market Cost: NEVER SOLD! ULTRA TOP SECRET!! Would cost 100 billion credits for a functioning unit fully armed and with functioning SHRIEK Shield.
SHRIEK Mode
When the SHRIEK Shield is activated at speeds of Mach 1 or faster, then the true power of the unit is revealed. The field, and everything it encompasses, becomes INTANGIBLE! Physical and energy attacks pass harmlessly through; even ion, electrical and particle beam attacks are ineffective. Phase weapons only work 40% of the time on an intangible armor. The armor can fly through solid matter during this time. The sonic resonance caused by using the shield at Mach Speeds gave the armor the SHRIEK name.
NOTE: Remember that the SHRIEK Shield can only be used for 1 1/2 minutes at a time; the system automatically shuts it down after that time. If the armor is within a solid object at the time that its SHRIEK Shield shuts down, the armor (and its pilot) are imbedded in the object (instant death!). 1D4 seconds later, the Anti-Matter Flux Furnace will explode doing 4D6�10+100 M.D. to a 50 ft. radius!
Weapon Systems:
1) Shoulder Lasers: 180� rotation, 30� arc of fire.
Primary Purpose: Assault
Secondary Purpose: Defence
Damage: 2D6 M.D. per single blast, 4D6 for synchronized blast from both lasers
Rate of Fire: equal to pilot's hand-to-hand attacks. Fired by verbal command or concealed stud in forearm
Max Range: 4000 feet
Payload: Unlimited; tied into power source of armor.
2) Optional Mini-Missile Mounts on legs; up to 6 mini-missiles can be mounted on each upper leg, and 4 on each lower leg (20 max). Fired by verbal command or by concealed stud on forearm.
Primary Purpose: Anti-Aircraft / Long-Range assault
Secondary Purpose: Defence
Damage: by missile type
Rate of Fire: one at a time, or in volleys of 2, 3, 4, 6 or 10
Max Range: by missile type
Payload: Unlimited; tied into power source of armor.
NOTE: That missiles are not shielded in any way, but they are small targets, and are -4 to hit.
3) Energy Rifle or Pistol: The pilot can carry and use any regular personal weapon.
4) Hand-to-Hand Combat: See Power Armor Combat Training.
5) SPECIAL: SHRIEK SHOT: This energy beam can be fired from the cupped hands in a 15� spray area. All energy weapons in area of beam will not function for 2D4 melees (including TW Weapons!). The SHRIEK Shield cannot be used for 4 hours after the SHRIEK SHOT is used.
Primary Purpose: Anti-Energy Weapon
Damage: N/A; affects all energy weapons within area of effect. No Saving throws are applicable.
Rate of Fire: Once; uses up all attacks.
Max Range: 800 feet
Payload: One shot, then 4 hour recharge is required
