Foundation
When I started Dark Blue Kennels years ago, I built it on a solid foundation of coon dogs. The hound that had a great influence on my success, as a breeder of outstanding coon dogs, was GRNITECH PR Bell Creek Blue Buck. The first time I hunted with Buck, I knew, that he would help my breeding program. Buck was out of the great cross of GRCH GRNITECH PRNorthern Blue Hammer V and PR Northern Blue Sady Girl. Sady Girl was out of the great cross of CH GRNITECH PR McCoy`s Mich. Blue Rebel and PR Non`s Blue Candy. Buck was a great producer that put the track, speed, and stay put tree power, in his pups, which we needed back then.
I was lucky enough to buy NITECH PR Bell Creek Blue Buck II, back then, and I have kept this Hammer V and Buck blood bred close over the years. I have crossed this blood on several stud dogs over the years with great success.

You need a good solid foundation for a successful breeding program

NITECH PR Bell Creek Blue Buck II
Buck II was out of GRNITECH PR Bell Creek BLue Buck and PR Bell Creek Blue Bertha. Bertha was a GRNITECH Southern Blue Pride female. Buck II was a fast track dog and like his sire was an explosive, classy, stay put tree dog. Buck II really helped my breeding program. I have a couple of males here now with Buck, Buck II, and Hammer V, over two dozen times in six generations.

Dark Blue Super Jab
I have alot of my females bred up close  on Jab. Jab was out of Buck II and a Buck female. Yes, Jab was a half brother and sister cross. Jab was a super nice coon dog that produced coon dogs.
NITECH PR Dark Blue Ruby
Ruby was the best hound I ever had the chance to follow. Ruby was out of Buck and PR Fussell`s Sheba. Sheba was a double PR Tahsudas Arkie female. Sheba was a nice loud coon dog. Ruby was the loudest track and tree dog that I have ever been with. Ruby was a great reproducer. I have the Ruby blood in alot of my females today. Ruby was a dominate reproducer of loud, fast, track dogs and hard, loud, stay put, tree dogs. I could go on and on about Ruby. She had less faults than any hound that I ever hunted. I can say that Ruby was a once in a lifetime hound and she is the reason for me to breed the type of hounds that I do today. You can bet that Ruby is in the foundation of Dark Blue Kennels. I bred PR Dark Blue Super Jab to Ruby and have this blood up close in my hounds today. Ruby and Jab are in Ed Meade`s Jet 6 hound.
