We will let them make the first move since it was them who have challenged us. We may
loose this war, but we will fight with honor. Set up your battle stations. Wait for them to
make the first advance. Drake watched the troops as they left to go to there battle
stations. Lady Dura said nothing. She only stood at Drakes side and watched them along
with him.
The Dragonarean Army was already standing in front of the Main Hall waiting for their
orders. Lord Aqaniss stood in front of them. They were from all the surrounding lands.
We have declared war on the Vampireans. Since we gave the challenge, we will make the
first attack. All of you shall go to your battle stations and wait there until dawn. When
dawns first light comes into the sky, attack the land of Vampirea and wipe out the entire
land. They will learn not to insult us and accuse us wrongly. Aqanisss voice was
showing the rage and anger that was growing in him with every word that he spoke. With
a wave of his claw, the army moved out to set up.
In the Infernos, Lord Diablo was preparing to defend the place if the time came. Lady
Shair was pacing around the floor. Her red orange eyes held nothing but pure fear as well
as her voice.
I cant believe that it has come back down to this. She told Diablo. I hoped that war
would never come back to our world. That we would be able to live in peace forever.
I know, dear. Diablo said, looking up from the blade that he was sharpening. But that
has all changed now. it can never go back to the way things were. I dont like it myself,
but this is the way it has to be.
No it isnt! Shair said angrily. We dont have to settle this in way of war. History does
not have to repeat its self. Dont you remember all the deaths and pain that came from the
last war that we had? Lady Hydras father was killed in the war. She may even loose Lord
Aqaniss. How can you declare war on the Vampireans and risk the destruction of our land
and the loss of our fine worriers. With each one that is killed, another woman will cry out
for the life of her husband and possibly his children will cry for their father. You have
brought all this sorrow to our world bye declaring war on the vampires. How can you live
with that on your conscience.? She demanded angrily. Her voice had risen to a shout
now. She seemed to unafraid of Lord Diablo who was now standing in front of her and
looking at her with hatred in his eyes. It was a look that he had never given her in the
whole time that he had known Shair.
I know the risks, Shair! Diablo roared at her. Its not like I have never gone to war
before. If any of the soldiers are killed they will die with honor and will be respected by all.
Their families will respect their sacrifice and they will cry, but their entire family will be
honored because of that one worrier. If you cant except that fact, then you are unworthy
of your post as Lady of the Infernos and my wife.
Lady Shair was crushed bye this remark. Diablo had never told her this before even in the
worst of circumstances. She could no longer face him any more. She backed up in tears
and flew away. Diablo just looked after her. He had a good idea that she would be back.
He was just trying to figure out why she had said what did. There would be honor to those
families who lost husbands and fathers in combat. Why could she not understand that?

Dawns first light came into the sky. The dragon worriers were all in place, ready to attack
Vampirea. Aqaniss had been chosen to lead the army into Vampirea. As the light touched
the army, he led them out. They moved very quietly and on the ground so they could
sneak into the gates and take the city by storm. When they came to the ocean that divided
the two worlds, the had no choice but to take flight. They flew low over the waters. The
waves almost touching there bellies. It was like a great carpet stretched over the ocean.
The mist that hung low over it covered them to where they were out of site to any watch
man no matter how skilled there eye was. When they reached the shore, the crept thru the
underbrush and morning mist. Right when they got to the stations of the vampires, the
mist began to clear. The morning light was beginning to break it apart. One of the vampire
watchman saw a glimmer of a dragon wing in the light and sounded the alarm. At an
instant, the vampires awoke and began to send arrows in a rain down upon the dragon
army. Many were killed by having arrows shot thru their necks and in tender spots
between their wings. Others were only wounded and stood up to face the vampire army.
Swords clashed and arrows flew. Dragon worriers fell and some got back up again, others
were not so lucky. Aqaniss was badly wounded and was trying to fend off an ambush of
vampires. Other dragons came to his aid and taking them into their claws, drug them off of
him. He was concentrated mainly on getting to Lord Drake to get him for what he did to
Hydra. He was going on pure adrenalin. Arrows were sticking out of his back and his
wings were torn in places where swords had cut them. Yet, all he could think about was
getting to Drake. He knew that when Drake fell, so would Vampirea. He fought his way
thru lines of guards. A few times he tried to fly but his torn wings would not carry him. He
was beginning to weaken from his loss of blood. A few of the dragon soldiers were
following him to make sure that he would make it. Even they saw how week he was
getting. Deep in their hearts, they thought he would die on the battlefield no matter how
much they tried to help him. Finally they reached the palace. Its dark, shadowy figure
stood high against the low light sky. Aqaniss burst thru the door and roared for Drake. He
reeled around and around in circles looking for him. Blood ran down his face and sides
from wounds that he had gotten. The other soldiers looked like they were about to drop
dead from wounds. One of them did. He was exhausted and he could no longer go with all
the blood he had lost. Just as he fell, Drake came walking calmly down a long flight of
black marble stairs.
Well well well. I didnt expect you to make it, Aqaniss. You seemed a little old for war.
He said, his voice sounded as if he was mocking him. His dark eyes burned into Aqaniss
more than any arrow or sword could ever do.
Your accusations started this war. Now, I will end it by spilling your blood to show once
and for all who is stronger. Aqaniss told him. He lunged after him with his sword drawn.
It met Drakes with a clash as loud as thunder. Sparks flew from there blades as they hit
and slid across each other. Aqaniss felt a stab of pain as Drakes sword slit his skin open
across his side. He staggered back. Blood flowed from the open wound like water. Drake
smiled. He knew that the old dragons adrenalin would soon give way to the loss of blood
