| -Companions: a Elven-steed or Tanhildor, Hrhinno, a grey-brown mare; and Hawkeye, a grey silver-marked wolf. Hawkeye almost never comes round humans or even other Elves. He was cast out of his pack for arguing with the alpha about the care of his brother's cubs - one broke its legs in a rock-fall, and opposing the alpha's orders, he took it to a human settlement to be healed. It died anyway. The pack continued on and when he caught up they drove him off. Family and other members: -Second daughter of the rulers of Eneldore, a relatively small kingdom to the west of the human world (and to the east of most other places, including Mordavia) -Parents Aran Daratiriel Silaldan and Tari Jemadar Elentarien -Three siblings: older brother Tar Darandur Ciryandil, older sister Ar Isilqueth Linnelhim, little brother Ar Tilararondar Galadhondil Andrel. - Darandur is solemn, the heir, and married very recently Idril sil Llewvar (Itarille), one of the few survivors of an attack on the north-west fort by black wyverns. The resident human (Darian Christie, interestingly enough as her name is so close to Dariyan) got him interested in boats and he can often be found on the lake; use-name means 'ship-lover'. -Isilqueth is distant and - uh - a good term is 'frigid'. Hence the use-name 'cold star-song'. -Tilararondar is her closest sibling in both age and relationship, they were quite close and she misses him. Unknown to barely anyone else, she can send him occasional letters, getting her Tanhildor to hide them in a place they discovered in the woods. -Uncle Calonderiel Dairuin Quettare, previously a notorious womaniser but now tamed, believe it or not, by the First Resident Human. -Darian, the 'First Resident Human', fell through a Gate while tramping (westwards), appearing several metres above the trees and near breaking an ankle - and landing in a heap only a few metres from Cal. She spoke very limited Elvish from the beginning courtesy of LOTR fanship. (Part of Darian's tale is HERE in Elfwood.) -Til is now lifebonded to the Second Resident Human, Niala Sibley, after being sucked through a Gate to her garden on a weekend her parents were out. (Part of her tale HERE in Elfwood) -Avonderiel tran Amantharel was her tutor and mentor as a young child, her father's friend and advisor (twelve years older than her father) Avon is a High Mage, of several disciplines - Elemental Magic, predominantly Water and Earth, with some Air; Light-magic, including Energy, Illusion and Seeing; and Animal Mind-speaker. He can also do magic through music, and has a sword (taken from a dragon's hoard) that is a magic-storing device. (Note: this story is HERE in Elfwood) -Avon came to Elendar to fetch her back to Eneldore. Then he became her husband and the father of her two children Elemmire and Gwaeronlir. -She left Elem with Avon after a couple of years suffering and went travelling again -She visited a couple times, tearing herself away again, then came back with Gwaer - the spitting image of his father including his talents - and refused to go anywhere near Avon again for heartbreak -Gwaer asked to stay with his father so she dropped him off and ran away again. -She met a Fire Mage, Carnimirie, and they have become reasonably good friends and often travel round together - his Fire magic complements her Air magic well in battle. -Unknown by Dariyan, Carnimirie would like nothing much more than to be her beloved, but he is hesitant as she is still drunk in her grief and pain for Avon and her children. --The letter I had in Mordavia is to give to Carn's brother River (Duinlantar) and it basically asks him to scout her out for Carn. In a very roundabout way heavily reliant on metaphor. (I have a feeling Carn may have meant for Dariyan to read the letter, as it is not sealed, though she has not. It is a dilemma.) |
