"Oklahoma native Rickey Lynn Stroup Sr., 46, of 306 Union St.,
died unexpectedly on Monday, June 27, 2005.
A native of Lawton, Oklahoma, he was a son of the late
Lee D. Stroup and Dorothy Kizziah Stroup Douglas.
He was the stepson of Russell Douglas of Blacksburg and a U.S. Navy veteran.
Surviving in addition to his stepfather are
a daughter, Angela Cunningham of Hollis, Oklahoma;
a son, Rickey Lynn Stroup Jr. of Tennessee;
five brothers, Larry Stroup, Johnny Douglas, both of Blacksburg,
Clarence Douglas of Abilene, Kansas,
Neal Douglas of Anniston, Alabama,
and William Bernard Douglas of Seattle, Washington;
three sisters, Pam Stroup Wells, Carol Ann Douglas Stacy,
both of Blacksburg, and Essie Dianne Douglas Dove
of Vista, California; and two grandchildren.
"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death
by a brother, Kenny Stroup, and a grandmother, Thelma Allen Kizziah Stroup.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements by White Columns of Blacksburg."
