| We have limited time to fit in all the events people want to hold, but it would be nice if 2 events didn't cross paths. It's hard to choose between 2 events when someone wants to go to both. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Dear Journal, Mum and I did some walking around town after breakfast, but Sundays sure are slow. We had lunch at Little Annie's. Mum had eggs benedict, while I had a spinach pie and fries. They serve such huge portions. DE- LI- CIOUS!! When we were done we went back to the Limelite Lodge lobby to relax. We had no plans until the concert with Chris and Paul. This was a concert that I planned on from the start. Have you ever wanted something so badly you could taste it?! Well this was one of those times. OH YEAH!! Mum and I had dinner at McDonalds and then we went over to the Mountain Chalet. We were early so I sat down to in the TV room to work on some poetry. 7:45 p.m. Mum and I went down to the hall where the concert was being held. As we checked in, we were asked which one of us was "Darcey Farrow" and I course I said I am. We sat down in our assigned seats. There were 2 6-string guitars on the stage. OH how I miss the 12 string guitar. It sounds crazed I know, but I like the sound. All of the sudden my mind wandered to a conversation I had with Cuchara Dave about him trying to play a banjo when he thought it was like playing a guitar. He soon found out that they were NOT the same. That certainly made me smile especially since when I tried to play my guitar, I noticed there was this awful plastic twang to my playing. 8-) 8:00 p.m. On the stage stands 2 performers each equally great. Chris tuning his guitar. Paul at the ready. Many people came in, but we still had some empty seats reserved by people coming from the tribute concert. "Hi, I'm Chris Westfall. If you think we will be playing for 4 hours straight, you are right. The ladies have set up a snack table over by the kitchen. Feel free to go up and help yourself whenever you want to. It won't bother us at all. Kevin Yeargin was supposed to be here with me, but that did not work out. We have a saying back home -- when in doubt in the northeast, and you need a guitarist, CALL PAUL." The concert began and I was swept away. "Music makes pictures...." 60 total songs were sung. PHEW!! | Near song 30, I began getting the inspriation for a letter that I wrote to both Chris and Paul. After I finished my sloppy copy, I re-wrote the letter 2 more times so they could each have a copy. This is why some of the songs do not have many added notes. In the letter, I told them that they play very good and how wonderful the concert was. I told them I hoped to be able to hear them perform at an arena like SPAC [Saratoga Performing Arts Center, a place that Sr. JD played many times] as that would be the ULTIMATE!! No doubt about it. I did not realize that as I began this writing endeavor, I had an audience. I also thanked them for playing "Darcy Farrow." What a comfort that was! The concert lasted until 12:45 p.m. and NO ONE wanted it to end. I could have floated back to my hotel -- WHAT A NATURAL ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH!! |
