| So...you say you need more info! Ok, a "Hop" is a Ford Hopelite. They don't like them at the "Zone" but you might get into a game were that's what you need to fly. A "Rip" is a Ripple trick... (Rip=to cycle rocketts between shots to fire more/faster). You'll hafta choose at least 2 [different] kinds of rocketts for this to work and should be able to get 3 or 4 off per pass if your doin it right...(use high explosive and flak for this most of the time.) When you decide to make up your own planes (before you try to go online or you'll never last!!!), remember... start with the "Armor" (all you can get!) and then take at least 3 "Hardpoints". (I like to take 4). Then take the "Twin 60's" for guns, and select Dum Dums for bullits at the load out screen. (you'll only need 1 set of guns and don't take the 70's until your aim gets real good cuz they cycle slower ...) Then the engine... the bigest "Nitro" you can carry! (just push "N" in flight and use it only to get away fast and not to turn.) You can add/remove planes from your list of choises just by adding/removing them from the folder; "My computer/C/program files/Microsoft games/Crimson Skies/planes". Then the next time you start the game, the changes will be there waiting for ya under "custom planes" in online games and at the bottom of the "Pilots plane" drop down menu in offline games. The "Tilde" key (directly below the ESC key) lets you communicate during the game. Now... with all that said and done, there's only one other thing you should know... Your respawn time is directly related to your "Bandwith" and weather your using Win XP or not. It's my opinion that the unregulated game clock running in the XP operating system will allow an XP user to run the game at a rate determand by how fast his PC is and the amount of bandwith he has. This issue has been addressed by Microsoft and they have posted an artical about the problem... Although they say that it rarely happens, the "Speedy Prop" affect can still be a determing factor in the end score. Someone that has twice as many deaths AND twice as many kills as anyone elts may be running a PC with Win XP and have an unregulated game clock. This condition is in no way a Hack or a cheat. It's just an upgrade from an older operating system and Microsoft expects everyone to buy the newer version. Unless your experencing very bad affects from your XP game clock, I advise you NOT to install the patch offered from MS. To learn more about "Speedy Prop", visit the link posted to the left. Otherwize, if your 56k and loose all the time to people that have Win XP with a Cable,DSL, ISDN or T1 connection, relax... that's just how this game works! Most of all, don't mistake a good connection or rapid game clock affects for someone that plays the game well. I've seen "Bare Assed Babboons" that will allwayz win with the connections they have! That doesn't make them "Good" If you do win againts some of these "Cable Babies", then they really do fly like crap on a rope !!! You can still be good and score low/not win the game if your (slow) ...AKA 56k or have a Win system other than XP. ...just look at the hit % to tell, or ask them to play "Follow the leader ". Good luck, and I'll see you online. 8-} ***AarcaneWizard*** |
