The Godservant
When a Supplicant chooses to take on the mantle of service and devotion to their chosen gods, they become the true followers known as Godservants.  They are the humble paritioners to the deities, and the chosen flock of the divine.  The Pantheon is sworn to protect the Godservants as they grow in skill and experience, for they are the future, from which great heroes and avatars spring.
The Godservant's duties to the guild are, primarily:

1. Maintaining the good name of the Pantheon and its deities by means of representing oneself with honor and nobility.  In other words, demonstrating to the people of Hibernia the character and roleplaying talent of our guild.  This really just comes down to roleplaying your character even in those difficult times when you are surrounded by those who do not.  It is our duty to lead by example, and in so doing, encourage others around us to do the same.  Your actions in your groups and in the Realmwars will dictate just how everyone else sees us.  Given enough time, and enough will, it is possible that your good roleplaying and dedication will make our name synonymous with fantastic roleplaying and attention to characters or storylines.

2. Furthering the cause and will of your chosen deities.  This may be as simple as merely mentioning their names in various situations, creating for yourself a pattern of roleplaying in line with the gods you have chosen, or making catch phrases for yourself which embody the role you see for yourself based on these beliefs.  It can be as complicated as writing side storylines about the gods, yours in particular, for us on the guild webpage or full blown roleplaying events.  The stronger you maintain a roleplaying front for your gods, the better our group events will be, and the more noticeable both you and your god will become.

The two duties outlined above will stay with you throughout your service in Pantheon and form the basis for your character's personality and motivations.  A character of an evil god will maintain himself as a chaotic or brutal villain, and his or her actions will follow accordingly, while a follower of the benign gods might act far differently, and try to achieve different goals.
When it comes time for you to decide whether you wish to step out of your role as a mere follower of a god, and undertake more responsibilities both in guild and out, certain steps can be used to achieve just that.

1. Find yourself an Advocate of a higher rank that will speak for you and act as evidence for your desire to advance and continue.  The Advocate will speak on your behalf at the Avatar Council when it comes time to do so.

2. The Primogens one rank above you, whose job it is to watch over the flock of Godservants and Supplicants must be appeased in order for you to join their ranks.  To do so, you must ask if there is any special task or quest they wish done that does not violate your mandate from your gods.  In other words, they cannot make you do a task that goes against what you believe in or roleplay.  Tasks may range from another quest to help the people, planning and running a roleplaying guild event based on your deities, delivering a speech to the people of Tir na Nog, slaying our enemy in the Realmwars (if your path embraces war) or some similar battlefield related task.  The Primogens come up with the specific task, and when completed, will grant you access to sit at the Avatar Council with your Advocate.

3.  The Avatar Council will review your actions both in guild and out, and the Advocate will speak on your behalf regarding deeds and accomplishments you have done.  This meeting may also take place either in person, or with magick missives.  At least three Avatars must be present to determine if what the Advocate says is true.  You will then be asked to declare to the Council what you hope to accomplish in the long run for your deities, the guild, and all of Hibernia.  This again need not be considered "good" if your chosen path is that of evil.  In the end, the Council will proclaim your right to advancement, and you will be promoted to the rank of Primogen, and take on all responsibilities and duty inherent therein.

Many choose never to leave the rank of Godservant mainly for the simple reason that they wish only to lead a life of personal devotion and service to the gods and not undertake duty to the guild.  Should you wish to lead a life free from higher responsibility to the guild and instead focus on roleplaying and the enjoyment of those around you, then Godservant is your true calling.
