| The Faith's Defender | |||
| Just as the Pariah tends to the guild from within, the Faith's Defender sees to matters from without. These loyal members indentify and deal with any problem or issue that effects the guild from outside sources. They are also laisons for the guild, acting as diplomats for the Alliance, other guilds, and even at times the foreign invader hordes. They are also avid purveyors of the faith, and actively spread the word of the gods and the cause of the guild to the people of Hibernia. Some tasks involved with being a Faith's Defender are... 1. Active recruitment of new members into the guild, swelling the numbers of the newly converted Supplicants. This is an addition to the standard roleplaying involved with just being involved with the guild. An active recruitment stance would be to always be on the lookout for those who would do well within our flock, and guide them to both the true path of the gods, and our Scrolls (here on the web). Doing both will get our message out to a greater number of people and have more coming here to look up the path we have chosen. This can be done for those already sworn to other guilds, for at least they will see what we here in Pantheon are trying to achieve and may bring fortune to us in other ways, such a guild friendships. 2. Creative roleplaying of possible stories involving threats from various outside players, guilds, or other sources. The Faith's Defender must see to the safety of the guild from all threats, both foreign and domestic. They must identify possible dangers to the guild, and develop storylines based on these should they wish. 3. Serve faithfully in the Realmwars. Since Pantheon is dedicated to the protection of all of Hibernia, serving in the frontiers against the invading hordes is necessary. Beginning at this rank, and continuing up until Avatar Exemplis, military service is encouraged as often as possible. The Faith's Defender is commonly seen as a missionary of sorts for the guild, openly speaking the words of the gods to any who will listen (and even some who do not). But should the calling of the traveling Godspeaker not hold your interest for long, and pue military service is what you desire, you may proceed in rank to Paganslayer following these steps... 1. Serve for a time as Faith's Defender, speaking for the gods and the guild to all who would hear you. Recruitment into the ranks of Supplicants is highly encouraged, and the other ranks in the guild often look to the Faith's Defenders to keep their numbers strong. The gods need faithful souls after all to keep their memories alive. 2. Find an Advocate that will speak for you on your deeds and accomplishments as a Faith's Defender. At this point, should you have progressed from Supplicant, it will be a simple task to argue a case for your worthiness for Paganslayer. A short Council of Avatars will see to your expeditious advancement, but only if... 3. Recruit at least two members into our guild. This is a difficult task at times, but the goals are thus: through gentle (some chose different paths, which is fine) demonstration, you will be showing the other members of our realm the glory of our roleplaying. The more people that go to the Scrolls here, the more that will read on our ways and our goals. For every twenty that come to read, only one may join, but within those twenty are many who will find conviction to either roleplay more consistently themselves, or learn the ways of roleplaying for the first time. As a Faith's Defender you are an active part in our guild's main driving goal of improving the condition for roleplaying in all of Nimue Hibernia. The rank of Faith's Defender is not an easy one to undertake, but is necessary to do on your course to full Avatar. An Avatar must master each aspect of the guild in order to provide service as a leader and an officer. Learning this aspect of highly social interaction with your fellow Hibernians is crucial in developing all leadership skills. Though few settle on the rank of Faith's Defender, many serve dutifully for a time on their way to further greatness. |
