When two poor psychopaths started their own band in the early 90s, nobody thought they would last.  After slowly releasing their epic of 6 Joker's Cards and almost a dozen other albums on the underground world, they're still relatively unheard of.  Although dozens, maybe even hundreds of people now work behind the scenes of Psychopathic Records (their record company), there are really only a few in the spotlight.  The most notable, of course, are the two members of Insane Clown Posse.

Seen below are Violent J (Joe Bruce) on the left and Shaggy 2 Dope (Joseph Utsler) on the right.

On Wednesday, November 20, 2002, my girlfriend and I actually had the pleasure of meeting our favorite band in person.  Unlike most bands, who would sign your autograph and tell you to piss off, ICP appreciates each and every fan they have.  It's probably the main reason they've been successful.  For the most part, once someone starts listening to ICP, they stop listening to almost everything else.  ICP doesn't call their followers "fans".  They call us Juggalos (for the guys) and Juggalettes (for the girls).  Being a Juggalo or Juggalette is a lot more than just being a fan, it's like a way of life.  Although their music isn't for everyone, the people that it is for love it to an amazing degree.  Anyway, they signed a big 12" x 12" flyer, shook our hands, and even talked to us briefly.  There is a picture of the autographed flyer below:

In case you find their scribblings unreadable, I'll translate.  The one on the left reads, "Violent J, ICP, Wicked Clowns" and the one on the right reads "2 Dope ICP."  Most people would say, "You actually stood in line for that?!"  I would say back, "You mean you wouldn't?"  Violent J is generally thought of as the leader of ICP even though Shaggy plays a large part as well.  Along with their producer, Mike Peezy, Violent J writes most of their music.  Violent J and Shaggy write all their own lyrics.
