Objectives

The Danville Area Council of Community Services was founded in 1966 to promote the general welfare in Danville and Pittsylvania County. The Council is a non-profit, non-political, and non-sectarian service organization whose objectives are:

1. Identifying public and private resources currently available for improving health, character-building, and citizenship services.
2. Identifying unmet needs related to improving health, character-building, and citizenship services and activities.
3. Supplying to the community information about and understanding of available resources and unmet needs.
4. Encouraging the utilization of existing resources and cooperative planning to meet identified unmet needs.
