| Practical concept The activities will be carried out in a group of about 15 persons, according to the target group. The activities will mainly consist of dance classes, where the Youth leader functions as the dance teacher. There will also be occasional exercises in group dynamics. At present we give one class per week, this will increase to twice a week in the second half of the timeplan. The project will be carried out in a pace according to the members participation. At first they will be introduced to the dance form on a Beginners level.Thereafter, the difficulty will slowly be heightened and eventually the participants are expected to choreograph a dance to perform on a later stage. |
Group interaction The discussions will start taking place in the second half of the scheduled time plan. By that time, the group will meet an additional time per week, with the sole purpose of discussing different topics. The meaning of these sessions is not to find "the answers" of such questions, but to be enrichened and interested in each others opinions and experiences, and most important - to respect those who think differently. The group will be attentively observed by the Youth leader, in order to make sure the group interaction is functioning. The value of respecting each other will be focused upon as important. This also means, in a practical sense, that commenting or interrupting someone who is speaking will not be allowed. |

| Time planning The project will be carried out for one year, followed by an evaluation. (Thereafter, it is possible that the project will be prolonged with the existing group, and/or increased with new participants.) The project is divided into different sections appearing as we proceed, in a pace depending on the members participation: 1) Information about the project and we present ourselves to eachother 2) Introduction to the dance 3) Dance classes 4) A day to improve group spirit (e.g. exercises, dinner, sleep over) 5) Continued dance classes and start of discussions 7) Choreographing a dance. 8) Performance for families, friends (and the public?). 9) Evaluation ... and if possible... * A performance at the cultural youth exhibition "Kul Kultur" in Linkping in September... * A common exchange trip to another country sometime in the future... |
