Grading policy For My Math Classes Students are given an assignment daily. All work is assigned point values. Grades are based on the number of points achieved out of the total points possible. The general scale for my classes is: 90% - 100% = A 80% - 89% = B 70% - 79% = C 60% - 69% = D Below 60% = F However, I do allow for a fudge factor. I allow up to 10% for special education students (i.e. 51% = 61% and, therefore, passing). I may also raise a students grade to the next grade level by as much as 2.5%. For example, 87.8% could still become an A if the student tried really hard, was not a behavior problem, and had no attendance problems, especially tardies. I will never lower a students grade from his actual earned percentage. |
