Who is that guy, Captain Kangaroo?
G'day Mates, from the land down under...Those crazy marsupials with the springy legs and mother's pouch bring us great medical treatment.  Kangaroo care is skin to skin contact betweeen the parent and the baby.  Here is Emma and her dad on Friday, September 27th, the day before her 1 month "birthday".  Both Emma and dad made it through her "treatment" great, although dad almost cried holding her in his arms.  She was grabbing oh so gently at her dad's chest hair while nuzzled in there.  It tickled a bit, but was great.  There were a bunch of people gathered around for this little event, and all had a great time!  Emma wants to thank RT Cathy for the great "1 Reilly Lane" sign that she posted for her.

In other good news, Emma's IV line is out.  She is now on formula feeds alone, no more IV fluids.  She seems to be doing good, knock on wood!

Oh, for the record...she is now 14" long, 710 grams, and on the 28th she was 29 weeks of gestation.  She is receiveing 7 cc's of formula every 2 hours and that contains 22 calories.  Heck of a weight loss program for all of us, big weight gain program for her....
