As for our little pink princess: Things have been progressing very nicely. Emma is now receiving 4 cc's of formula every 3-4 hours. She will be increased by 1-2 cc's per day until they get her up to 17 cc's per feeding every 4 hours. Right now that seems like a crazy amount of food for her! She is begining to put on the most modest amount of weight. Years from now she will be mortified that I was discussing her weight. Then I'll hand her a package and a half of hot dogs to make her understand.... ANYWAY...FOr those of you who understand the medical mumbo jumbo (and there are several Reilly's who do that nursing thing) She is now down to floating between 21% O2 (room air) to 32%, Pressure at 18/5 rate = 30. Blood gasses are showing that her lungs are performing well, and more importantly, she sounds clear. No "squeakyness" (hey, it's an industry term) or asperates.
Other than that, mom and dad are doing well. We appreciate all the kind thoughts and e-mails that have been sent to us. I apologize for not responding, but as you can imagine, things are a bit busy here. Please allow this to serve as the generic thank you for the next few days.
