| My First Exposure to the real world (age 01 to 03) (Chapter I) |
||||||||||
| It was a peaceful and very cold night in the village where one couple had rejoiced, for they were blessed of having a first baby boy. That healthy-baby boy is no other than me and my name is Danny Vea Bendong. | ||||||||||
| I was born last April 27, 1971 at Lower Bag-ong Tudela, Josefina, Zamboanga del Sur. Alberto Bodiongan Bendong is the name of my Father and Lolita Jutba Vea is my mother's name. My father likes to tell jokes and very hardworking. He works in our farm under the sun the whole day. My mother on the other hand likes to sing and has a strong determination. She is so beautiful that's why all guys in the village are admiring her (I don't have picture of my mother because we don't have camera that time). She joined in a singing contest in our village and won the first prize. They were very compatible as they got easily adjusted from each other. They were both good in local business (selling vegetables, coconut juice, and etc). During the night after having a dinner, you can hear the joy with laughter mixed up with the mellow sound of voices in our home. | ||||||||||
| When I reached the age of one, my mother gave birth a new baby boy and his name is Beltran Bendong. The pure joy overflowed in our home everyday, until such time when I reached the age of two, the unexpected happened - my father died due to Sistosomiasis. | ||||||||||
| Ironic things had begun. Sorrows and pains reigns in my mother's heart that time. She can't forget the happy moment in our family when my father was still alive. Then, one night she dreamed that my father came back and wanted to get my brother. My mother resisted not to give my brother Beltran. However, my father insisted that he must take my brother with him into his new world because he was lonely there and needed a companion. So my mother hold and hug as both, I'm on her right arm and my brother on her left arm. Father moved forward and disguised to her, pinned his finger to her left hip then took my brother and the two of them disappeared. My mother cried so loud because she lost my brother. When she woke up from her bad dream. He held us both so tight and noticed that me and my brother have a very high fever. | ||||||||||
| That time, there was no available doctor and medicine in our village, so mother just applied a traditional visayan way of curing us from fever. A week after, our fever grew more severe and my mother was confused what to do next until one morning my brother Beltran died. Some people said my father took my brother with him. I don't know if it was true. Thank God I had survived and I am three years young when that happened. | ||||||||||
