| The One (age 12) Chapter VI |

| With GOD's guidance, I easily recovered from my melancholic feeling brought about from my mother's death.� I continued my adventure in life as if nothing happened.� | ||||||||||||||
| It was late afternoon on October 1983, I was greatly surprised by two persons who came in to Mrs. Mengay's house and were looking for me.� I really wondered why, when they called my name - Danny, I automatically run forward to them and hugged them.� With tears in my eyes I asked them who they were.� They answered that they were my real uncle and aunt - uncle Leonardo (remember in Chapter I) and Aunt Raymunda.� Their names were not familiar to me because my mother did not mentioned anything to me about them and my mother made me believed that my real father was Florentino Pepito, my stepfather and all I believed to be my relatives were the Pepito clan.� They explained to me that my mother wrote them a letter.� It was stated in the letter that my mother was begging them sorry about what had happened before between them.� Also, she stated about her health condition and that she felt dying already.� Furthermore, she mentioned about my scholastic record in school and she didn't want to loss my dreams and that's why she requested them to get me and let me pursue my studies, under the custody of the Bendong family, my real family clan.� They showed me my birth certificate and I found out that I should follow the name - Danilo Ve�a Bedong, not Danilo Ve�a Pepito.� I looked up to Mrs. Mengay's eyes and asked her, "What shall I do?"� Mrs. Mengay calmly answered me, "You go with you real relatives, great future is waiting for you there, your mother told me everything when she was still alive". | ||||||||||||||
| Early in the following morning, I packed all my things and bid farewell to all my classmates, schoolteachers, and our school principal Mr. Domingo who were very kind to me, and then we left.� We went to meet first my uncle Joe Bendong's in Cagayan de Oro City.� Then we traveled going to Lower, Bag-ong Tudela, Josefina, Zamboanga del Sur, via Bachelor Bus.� It was my first time to travel that long that's why I felt dizzy and vomited inside the bus. | ||||||||||||||
| Right then, uncle Leonardo processed the documents needed for my school transfer including transfer of name from Danilo Ve�a Pepito to Danilo Ve�a Bendong.� When he got my Form 138-A from Mauswagon Elementary School, he almost died when the bus he rode was exploded and flamed, thank GOD he was able to jumped out the bus before it exploded. | ||||||||||||||
| I transferred to Leonardo Elementary School at Leonardo, Josefina, Zamboanga del Sur.� Due to my excellent scholastic performance, our school staff sent me to the inter-school quiz competition to represent our school.� Our Graduation in Grade VI turned out into a solemn celebration.� All guest, visitors, nuns, big personalities, students, parents, guardians were so silent as I delivered my speech to them with tears.� I graduated from grade VI with honors. | ||||||||||||||
