A Story About True Love

Ladies and Gentlemen: the story I'm about to tell you will
touch the deepest realms of your heart. Many feelings will
you feel tonight, as my words caress your ears, but doubt
not what I say. For let it be known that these words are true
and need to be told and heard. My story unfolds back around
1825, when this great world of ours had yet begun to live.
Ladies were respected, some men were feared and children
minded their elders. The town I take you to is that of a
small town, Belfast in Northern Irleand. Things were not the
same as they are today. The people and their culture have not
changed tho. It was a simpler time back in 1825.

My ship is much like the ship above. I call my vessel:
The Alantra. My name, my good people, is Captain Hardy.
My friends call me Pete and I suggest that you do the same.
1825 held many changes in Belfast and tension was mounting.
I decided to move my vessel elsewhere to be safe. I had about
100 good, strong men working this here boat. I decided to set
sail off to Barcolona, Spain. I never quite considered myself
an irishmen anyway, for Spain was my first and only true love.

I never did get around to marrying that lass in Belfast. Her
name was Cassandra and we were promised to each other, but I
loved her not. I felt why break her heart any further, besides
I have a girl in each port. Ah! What a life I lead! What a
bloomin piece a heaven I lead! Now making it into port, I
excitedly awaited the arms of Katrina. She was the lady I
truly loved, but alas she was wed to another and barrying his
child. What total dred I felt for that. Oh well, another in
the next the port will ease my sorrow. *EG*. Katrina stayed by
my side the whole time I was in town. For it was soon coming to
an end, her and I. I began to tell her the tale I spoke of....

Down below the waves of the ocean, there is a lass unlike
any we ever saw before. She has never walked on land, or
danced to music, or sat in the sun. You will never see her
walk your streets or wear your clothes. She will never fall
in love or get married or have kids. It's sad to hear, but
quite true. "I have seen her Katrina and have heard her too.",
Captain Hardy says. "How?", Katrina asks. "Well, my dear
lady I am glad that you have asked", Hardy replies. "Do you
remember the last boat that I owned." "Yes..Yes I do", says
Katrina quite excitedly. "It crashed into the rocks on the
Island of Maui". "Yes, correct", Hardy says, shocked that she
remembered. "Right before the crash I heard this beautiful sing-
ing. I looked and searched, but saw no one. Then BLAM it hit
all at once. My ship was torn to ribbons. As I sat on those
rocks, off in the distance I saw a hint of a tail splash down
into the water. Then shortly after a head popped up and left
just as fast.", Hardy finished. Katrina only sat there in a
daze not saying one word at all. What else could you say? lol

"Lets now travel down into the depths of the ocean. Way down
where humans cannot go and animals dare not to go. There we
will meet a lass, as Hardy described. Come walk with me..talk
with me and stay awhile." Thank You for your time.
