12/31/98 Well it's the last day of 1998! I wish you all a happy New Year. Today I totally revised the breeding page and added 2 new pics of Darwin.
12/29/98 Hmmm well methinks all is well here. Guess who's mating tonight? None other than Mary & Elan! But I'm not gonna get my hopes up yet, she probably won't be pregnant = ( BTW you'll want to be sure to check back here on Jan 1st or 2nd, I should have a surprise for you all...
12/26/98 I hope everyone had a merry Christmas! The gerbils got lots of stuff. Two wooden toys, tons of cardboard, aspen bed stuff, lots of nice food, veggie treats, and rice krispies. Yummmm = ) Today Mia came by to get Aditya and Myst, they are sooooo cute together those two, I hope they give Mia some pretty babies, hopefully in another 2 weeks or so ;) Eve's pups are about ready to go, if anybody wants them ;) I think Dana & Fox might have mated AGAIN last night but I'm not exactly sure, but she is definitely not pregnant anyhow, whether they mated or not.
12/22/98 Hmmm Christmas is quickly approaching as is the end of 1998!! And I'm getting Xmas presents early, as are some adopters of Dani babies... Ingrid in WI became grandmum to 7 beautiful pups from Touch and his grey agouti mate Gracie on December 20th. Also, Stephanie K. in MI became the grandmom of 5 baby pups today, from Marrim (Chic) and Chinny. Chinny & Gracie are sister and brother, how funny that they became parents within 2 days of each other! They were twins, as a matter of fact ;) Sooo now, Riven & Adia are grandparents!
12/20/98 We lost Ben today = ( He'd been a little ill the past 3 days but I thought he was improving... but I guess not = ( He has a memorial here.
12/19/98 Today I added a page about polar foxes, added a pic to Mary & Elan's album, and to Lilith & Ashwin's album and Gemedet's album.
12/16/98 Happy birthday Riven, Eve, and Reilly! Unless I'm hallucinating (which is quite possible) Eve is visibly pregnant with her 7th litter! Nobody else is pregnant tho... just my luck = P Oh well this way I have lots of time to place my pups (anyone looking? ;). Ohh speaking of Eve & Reilly they might become great-grandparents soon! Yes, you read right! Alexis (their nutmeg/DEH pied granddaughter from Jenevieve at Lisa's) mated with her lilac mate, Sam, recently... so if they're successful they'll be great-grandparents! I added a new pic of Eve to her page and a pic of Riven to his.
12/15/98 Riven, Eve, and Reilly will all be 1 year old tomorrow! Mia should be coming by sometime this week to pick up Myst and Aditya who BTW are mating tonight! (Now how come none of MY pairs mate? = P heh well, Mary and Gemedet at least... the others just mate too much LOL ;). If I don't update the page sometime in the next week or so it's not because i'm lazy, it's just that I have an English book review to write, an oral presentation on it to do, a biology report and oral to write, and a report in Animal Science not to mention regular homework.... = 6
12/13/98 Yesterday I went to see Phantom of the Opera in Philly, it was awesome = ) Anyway, today I put Aditya and Myst together and all is going well. I added 2 new pics to Eve & Reilly's page.
12/10/98 On Tuesday, Pacifica and his black spot mate arrived at Emily C.'s house safe and sound = ) And today (at least according to the tracking) Brian picked up Anthony and Molly. Today I put Myst in a split tank with Aditya. Lets hope they along well for Mia = ) I added a photo album for Mary & Elan. I also added a pic to Adair & Danziger's album.

12/4/98 Adia is going to win the pear-of-the-month award! If you look at the Lautrera Litter #3 page, you'll see some pics Katherine's daughter sent me of the 2 boys they got back in Feb = )

12/2/98 Adia is a pear momma! ;) (I took that pic yesterday actually). She's getting quite pudgy. 3 more days! Today I got pics of Gemedet & Darwin and put them on their album. I got an email today from Holly who adopted Fortuna, Itasca, and Didasca. She said Fortuna is now paired with *Itasca* (not Didasca) due to a curious set of circumstances = ) Didasca is living with another female, I believe. But they're all well = ) I added 2 more pics to the color spectrum and a pic of Eve & Reilly's grandkids to their page!
12/1/98 Happy birthday Dana! I added a new pic of her to the album. I also added new pictures of Ben & Sympatico and Mary & Elan.
11/30/98 I went to Lisa's Saturday and picked up a little black spot girl who's going to go live in Massachusetts with Pacifica. They're so cute together ;) (see here). Today I added photos to Eve & Reilly's album and added some new pics to the color spectrum.
11/27/98 I'm going to Lisa's in a little bit to drop of Selene and Ulysses. Selene has been here so long, I'm going to miss the little gal! She was from Adia's first litter way back in May. She's such a sweetie. Today I added a pic to Eve & Reilly's page and one to Lilith & Ashwin's.
11/26/98 Happy Turkey Day everyone! I accidentally wrote in a few places that Adair is due on Dec. 8th. Well it's Dec. 18th, I can't count ;) I introduce Darwin & Gemedet yesterday, and all is going beautifully. I added pics to their page. I also added pics of Linnea & Hafwen. Hrmmm the gerbil mailing list seems to be down today. If anyone else knows why please email me and tell me = )
11/24/98 Adair & Danziger are mating tonight! I hope they're successful, I certainly loved their first litter!
11/23/98 I would have updated this yesterday, but I spent most of the day in NJ at my aunt's. Early Sunday morning, but of my sister Anneliese's gerbils, Grace & Lucy passed away, without explanation = ( we found them quite ill and nursed them for a few hours but to no avail... I will miss their sweet little faces as I pass by the bathroom door every day = ( They were both barely over a year old. We're mystified as to the cause, but it's quite similar to what happened to Joey way back in January. Just suddenly cold and listless.... I suppose it goes with the territory (owning gerbils) they all have to leave you eventually = ( Grace was from Lautrera Litter #1. Lucy came from Kelly C. in WI. In other, happier news, Alexandria and her agouti boyfriend arrived safely in Arizona yesterday! Stephanie F. was quite happy to see them, to say the least! Hopefully I will have pics of them in their new home sometime soon = )
11/21/98 Eve had her babies!!! Also today I added a picture of a young & molting nutmeg to the color spectrum, new pics to Mary-E & Elan's page, and two to Eve & Reilly's album. GROAN Lilith & Ashwin mated for the 3rd time tonight so I'm going to have to assume they're not going to have babies anytime soon = ( why does this always happen to me = (
11/19/98 Guess who's here!!!! Darwin arrived from NY this afternoon = ) He's such a cutie pie. I put pics of him up on Gemedet's page. She seems very excited at his presence, whether that's good excited or bad excitement (aka agression). We'll have to see. Cross your fingers! Eve is due tomorrow!
11/16/98 Eve's 6th litter is due in 4 days, she's starting to plump out. But not a whole lot, so I'm guessing 3 babies. I added a new pic of her and Reilly to their page. I took a look at Joerg's polar fox pictures today and I'm even more sure that Mary-E is a polar fox. But you still never know.
11/14/98 Tis the season for birthdays! Tomorrow is Lucy's big day. Early this year, you will recall, I got a number of new gerbies, which make up most of my families now. Because I got them all around Dec-Feb they were all born about this time of year. This is why we have so many 1 year birthdays now. Happy birthday you guys! ;) They don't like the fact that they're now "middle aged". Today I added a new pic to Ashwin & Lilith's page, and a bunch to Mary-E & Elan's. I'm working on rewriting the breeding page and I'll probably be done soon. Oh pooh, the nifty LCD color viewfinder on my camcorder died today. It just shines white all the time. Oh well. If it doesn't "fix itself" soon I'll probably turn my camera in for a replacement, 'cause I need my LCD viewfinder! ;)
11/12/98 Got a new boy today! His name is Elan and he's Mary-Eben's boyfriend ;)
11/10/98 Well it turns out Lilith isn't expecting after all = ( she's auditioning for her part as The Next Dana. That's what I get for even MENTIONING it... and for saying how perfect it was for her to be due over Thanksgiving . . . ::sigh:: These gerbils. We lost a 3rd of Adia's litter, making the little argente boy the only survivor = ( At first I thought she was driving them off and that's why the first two died, but this other one got sick AFTER I removed them... whatever that means . . . We also lost little Callyr; after a frantic search Sunday night I realized he was just completely gone, vanished from the tank in a matter of hours = (
11/7/98 Yesterday, Sherlock and Amelia of The Little Rascals had 5 pups! That makes Pookie a great-great-grandfather = ) I'm going to add daily pics later, because yesterday I was at a party and today my mom is dragging me out someplace, so I don't have time right now. 20 more days til Lilith is due, at least I hope!! She's due on the 27th which is right smack in the middle of my Thanksgiving vacation (Nov 26-29). How perfect! ;)
11/4/98 Happy birthday Adia and Grace! The girls of Phoebe & Ciaran's first litter are now a whole year old! Wow! I added Grace's music to her page.
11/2/98 Unfortunately, we lost our great patriarch Pookie last night = ( He probably died of old age but because Banner died Fri. I'm treating everybody with antibiotics. They all seem okay though = ) Please visit Pookie's memorial. Onto the good news, though.... Lilith & Ashwin are mating! Their babies will be due Nov 27th. I also added a soundfile of Adia's song to her lyrics page.
