4/29/98 8 more days til Adia is due! I added 2 new pictures of her (one is just a link, so you'll have to look for it = ). Eve's litter keeps growing and growing! = ) Well, that's all for now.
4/25/98 What's up with nobody posting on the Message Board? If you're gonna visit this page, you have to at least post and introduce yourself! Okay, so I'm joking, but I would really appreciate if everyone tried to participate in a little conversation = ) It's so quiet. I understand if you're busy and stuff but please, if only to appease me ;). When I picked up Adia today I think her belly felt a bit bigger. But we know how I am about that stuff so she probably *isn't* pregnant and I'm just hallucinating. We'll see. Eve will probably have another litter in about 2 weeks, maybe a little longer than that, maybe a little sooner. Most of her babies are still looking for homes (at least 1, probably a schimmel female, is reserved). Champagne and schimmel are *lovely* so if you're even remotely interested, see my adoption page. Mary is also in need of a great home, and I can match her up to a schimmel if ya like = ) Well enough rambling for now. Oh! Adair and Danziger are 8 1/2 weeks old now and getting bigger, hopefully they'll be expecting a litter in about 2 months' time. I added 2 new pics to their page.
4/24/98 Whye died early in the morning on the 21st = ( But today I have some happy news! Mystery, from Lautrera Litter 1, had 3 babies today!! Hopefully I'll be able to go to Mindy's and see them sometime, or at least a litter later on. Mystery's twin sister, my Adia is expecting her own babies in 13 days (I hope I hope I hope!). Eve is beginning to get pudgy again, even though she's still nursing her seven 22 day old pups! Go fig, that's gerbils for you = ) Also, for some reason either the news page didn't upload or I forgot to upload it on the 20th, so if you look below there's the news = )
4/20/98 The Dani Clan has won its second award, the Dogs 'n' Rodents award from Luisa Profeta, from the Gerbil Club of Missouri. Whye (Phoebe's baby) is still with us, but he doesn't look too fabulous. Circle went to his new home yesterday, and I have pictures of him and his new mate on the Lautrera litter 5 page, as well as some pictures of Circle's brother Witness and his new friend Harvey = )
4/19/98 Phoebe had one baby yesterday. Well, I didn't expect much anyhow . . . I hope the poor thing makes it. Lisa is coming to pick up Circle today. He's going to meet his mate, and I'll take some pics = ) Mary will have to live with her parents until she finds a home, turns 8 weeks old, or gets kicked out by her mom, whichever comes first. Just so she doesn't live alone. If I can't find her a home, I'll probably keep her with Madison or another female member of Eve's litter.
4/14/98 I moved the message board from Inside The Web to Custom Forums. Custom Forums just seemed nicer = ) So now the board can be found here. You need to register but it only takes a second anyhow. But let me know if that's a problem for some reason. Mary, the lilac female who was born 3/13/98, still needs a home! Please email me if you're interested. I can even pair her up with one of the schimmels if you'd be willing to wait 3 or 4 weeks.
4/13/98 FINALLY! Riven and Adia will be expecting their first litter on May 7th, just in time for my birthday = ) I think Phoebe might be expecting another litter sometime soon. Eve's babies keep growing and growing and growing! If anyone is interested in Mary, from Lautrera litter 5 please let me know, I can't get in contact with her would-be adopter so she's up for adoption again. My email is [email protected].
4/11/98 Today my sister's friend Sabrina came over. She adopted Beta and Gamma from my very first litter--and they're still alive and doing well! I introduced her to the rest of their family and now she thinks I'm crazy ;) I added a new picture to Adia and Riven's page, a new picture & more text to Adair and Danziger's page, added the usual pictures to the 2 litters' pages, and updated the adoption page. I'm beginning to wonder if Adia will ever have babies, as she and Riven don't seem too interested in each other, and i wonder if Dana will either, since they've mated 7 times and I don't see much going on!
4/10/98 I visited Caitriona and Ailish today and got some pictures of them. I also added some news about Shadow & Rascal to the Lautrera Litter #1 page, and of course the usual new pictures of both litters.
4/9/98 One of Phoebe's babies, Elsewhere died today = ( = ( And Dana and Fox mated again = ( Phooooie.

4/4/98 Still have seven little ones with Eve and Reilly! = ) According to Tana Lyman, Miss Piggy (the mate of Rascal ("Surfacing"))is due any day now! It looks like Sweet Pea, who is Shadow's ("Angel") mate isn't going to have anymore. Today I updated the breeding page with a few new Q's and A's, and updated the color spectrum.
4/3/98 I updated all the misc. details I mentioned before. I also got some new pictures of Adair and Danziger, and added more text to their page. Then I added new pics of Eve's pups, as well as Phoebe's pups. I also updated the links = )
4/2/98 Eve had SEVEN pups!!!! Also today I got Adair and Danziger! WHOOO how exciting! = ) As you might notice (or might not) some of my pages haven't been updated with the new gerbils (like the stats page, etc.) this is because I'm running low on time. I'll try to do it tomorrow = )
3/29/98 Okay so I haven't gotten the black and agouti yet = ) Mindy couldn't come this weekend after all. But I'll have them sometime this week! Very exciting news concerning Riven One of his brothers and one of his sisters had a litter, and a mystery gerbil popped up! It looks like a slate but has a silver undercoat, like an argente. I think "argente slate" would be a suitable name. There's a pic on Riven and Adia's page. Maybe their kids will give me babies like that? You never know. One things for sure, if it IS something different, I'll definitely be in line to get one . . . = ) New pics of the pups of course! I also updated the family tree with the names of some of Angel's kids. I've also got a picture of Eve on day 20 if anyone wants to make a guess = ) You can email me.
3/27/98 I'm getting the black and agouti tomorrow! Also, I put some info on the adoption page about Mindy's babies. We solved a problem that had been plaguing her, about a lot of her pups dying, and now that we fixed it (it was the pine litter) she's got a lot of pups! = ) They're all old enough to leave home now, I think. Eve is due in 6 more days, and Dana is due in 25 (don't bother asking).
3/25/98 Eve is definitely going to have those babies next Thursday = ) I'm guessing 5? As per usual I got more pics of Phoebe and Ciaran's pups (sorry I don't have any for yesterday but I was very very very busy). Also, sometime this weekend Mindy ought to be coming down to drop off my new black & agouti pair! I think I'm naming then Adair & Danziger but I don't know which will be which = ) Hope I get it right this time . . . Maybe Mindy will come with news of Mystery's pups?? She's due on Saturday, so in the Lautrera tradition she'll have them Sunday = )
3/23/98 Got pics of Phoebe and Ciaran's grandkids! One can be found on their page, and the rest should be on the Lautreras of Oklahoma website shortly! They're absolutely adorable! Eve's due in 10 days (I guess she's gonna have some . . . not sure!), Dana's due in 17. Phoebe's pups just keep on growing! = )
3/20/98 Not too much new around here! In case you weren't aware, I've been adding new pics of the pups every day = ) Just haven't mentioned it in the news (it's a pain to have to upload sooo many files). I love Geocities! They gave me another 3 megabytes of space for this site just as I was running out! I now have 9 MB to work with . . . for FREE. Geocities gives out 6MB to start now. So, if your server doesn't give you space or something . . . Geocities rocks. ::switching out of advertisement mode:: Eve should be due in 13 days but I have yet to be certain she's actually expecting. 20 more days for Dana.
3/16/98 Another pup died the other day = ( But now I think that the ones left are going to make it (there are four). Phoebe and Ciaran have got this parenting thing down! Riven seemed interested in Adia earlier this afternoon, but now they're just at their usual, "Whuh? Oh, YOU'RE still here?" routine. You never know, though. I got some new pics of Reilly and Eve today. Oh gosh nearly forgot (it's getting so routine, after all) Dana and Fox have postponed their babies to April 9th now. Well, I certainly hope Eve will have hers on the 2nd like she's supposed to, but I don't know. It's been 8 days so far, so that means she's got 10 more days til I trust her = ) BTW Phoebe and Ciaran's newest grandkids in Oklahoma turned out to be 1 argente, 1 lilac, and 4 black (unfortunately, one of the blacks died = ()
3/14/98 One of Phoebe's new babies died = ( I hope it's the last one. I got more pics of the new guys, and also added more pictures to Grace and Lucy's page. BTW I'm pretty sure Lucy is a nutmeg patched.
3/13/98 Pups!
3/9/98 Okay I got new pics today of a few gerbies = ) I added a new one to Eve & Reilly's page (BTW Eve is due in 24 more days--yes I said 24), I added 2 to Skittish's page, 1 to Pookie's page, and that's about it. Oh, I did an update on the Breeding FAQ page. I also have another pic of Phoebe! Here's the momma at 22 days, this is your last chance to make a guess. Feel free to compare to a pic of her when she had 7. Picture #1, Picture #2.
3/7/98 We've passed the 3 week mark for Dana's litter! That is, the 3 weeks til Dana has her litter mark . . . = ) Yesterday was 2-weeks-til-Eve's-litter mark. I don't know that she's actually pregnant, though. She tends to be a bit jumpy and doesn't let me get a good handle on her, so I can't really tell yet. In 4 more days it ought to be very obvious, which is why I don't think she's pregnant, because I don't even see a beginning of a bulge. Oh well, we'll see. Phoebe's due in 5 more days. Today I revised the link page and . . . now that I think about it, that's about it.
3/5/98 WAHOO! Surfacing, of Lautrera Litter 1 (now known as "Rascal") is a daddy now! His "wife", an agouti named Miss Piggy, had 6 babies! Oh how I wish I could see them. To hear more about them, visit our "afilliated site" - The Lautreras of Oklahoma. Also, congrats to Victoria, whose yellow fox (red eyed honey) Moma had SEVEN babies today, and to G's Cookie, who had 5(?) I think. So many happy gerbils!! Oh, BTW, the guesses on Phoebe are of 6 and 8, with three people picking 6 (I think) and 1 picking 8. What about me? Well, I dunno . . .
3/4/98 Hee hee me gots an idea. I'm gonna have a little contest. I have a pic of Phoebe now at 17 days pregnant, and I'm gonna have you folks guess how many pups she'll have. Please email me with your guess. The prize? My respect = ) Here it is:
Well there she is. Anyway, I added a new picture to Dana and Fox's page. The gerbies are all happy today. Yesterday Adia was totally spazzing. Maybe a psychic connection to twin sister Mystery had her a bit excited?? = )
3/3/98 Dana and Fox seem to be thinking the philosophy is "FOUR time's the charm" ::grumble:: NOW she's due on March 28th. Or should I say September 28th at the rate we're going . . . Well on the bright side, they only led me on for six days that time! Well can't really say that, I didn't believe them for a second. Oh anyway! Mystery, of Lautrera Litter #1 should be a mommy in 25 days if all goes well. Hey! She's due the same day as Dana. (as if). Guess that's all = )
3/1/98 Today, I revised the Care and Breeding pages. Finian and Liam went to Mindy's house yesterday, and are now living with a schimmel (the former Eve), a dark-patched-pied dove, and a black. Eve is due in a mere 19 more days, Dana is due in 21, and Phoebe is due in 11 (and getting bigger!). I also moved the January & February news onto an old news page. And I added another book review to the Books page.
