Lover's Leap

Top 20 Climbs: A Hit List

(IMHO, Dan Zimmerlin)

In order of difficulty and seriousness:

1. Knapsack Crack, 5.3, a good first lead

2. The Farce, 5.4, hard to find easiest way

3. Lover's Chimney, 5.5, I have never found a 5.5. exit

4. East Wall, 5.6

5. Deception, 5.6

6. Pop Bottle, 5.7, only first pitch recommended

7. Surrealistic Pillar, 5.7

8. Bear's Reach, 5.7

9. Bookmark, 5.7, short runout on 3rd pitch

10. Harvey's Wallbangers, 5.6-5.8, depending on which

11. Corrugation Corner, 5.7, graduate level 5.7

12. East Crack, 5.8

13. Deception Direct, 5.8, very thin

14. Haystack Crack, 5.8, the roof is not the crux, just intimidating

15. Eagle Buttress, Right, 5.9

16. The Line, 5.9, clearly classic

17. Traveler's Buttress, 5.9, tough

18. April Fools, 5.9R, scary

19. Hospital Corner, 5.10a

20. Surrealistic Pillar Direct, 5.10a, serious and burly

There are other, harder climbs if you get through this list. But you probably will have been around long enough to find your own classics by then.
