Finger Mantle

Drinking Fountain Wall

This is one of the problems on the low wall to the left of the drinking fountain (See Map 1.) that use only a single handhold before reaching the top.  This problem starts with both hands on the small horizontal ledge directly above the bulge.  Walk your feet up on small holds, avoiding the larger ledge, until you can step your left foot above the bulge.  At this point, execute the finger mantle.  That is, rock up until your fingers are pointing straight down onto the hold, press down raising your body until you can get your right foot on a good hold above the bulge on the right.  For the stylish finish, let go of the handhold and reach the top with both hands simultaneously ( as shown in the video).

This problem can be done one-handed, with the right, as a harder variation.
