Fort Lauderdale
People have always said "I don't like here, there is nothing to do...blah blah blah." Whiners. Beauty is where you find it and my hometown is no different. Out of town folk have asked "what is so special about Fort Lauderdale?" With that in mind me and Alexa and Jessica decided to take in some of the local sights and of course the big Christmas tree.
Jessica and Alexa watch the sunset at Riverwalk.
Look at the fish!!
The IMAX theater and science museum across the street.
A look at Riverwalk and downtown Fort Lauderdale behind it.
There are interesting things to look at...
...and deface.
Alexa stadning in front of "Taurus I" which is made of $30,000 worth of nickel. Or something.
Alexa: Look at the big star!
Jessica: Where? Where?
Trees!
Okay so how this works is you talk in the middle circle here...
...and you can hear the person on the other side here.
Alexa shows the proper way to use a sundial.
And gets bored with it in a matter of seconds.
Enough of this. Off to the Christmas tree.
Where we were.
Walking along the path you find Fort Lauderdale's finest restaurant, The River House.
Even the trains gotta give it up for the damn boats around here.
Some boats, the New River, the Auto Nation building, and...ahem...the prison.
Jumping Jehosephat! It's the Christmas tree!
Ditto!
Fountains are everywhere. This is across the street from the tree at the Museum of Art.
Alexa is mesmorized by the tree.
Or maybe it's the fountain.
Palm trees, water, and buildings.
In color.
Someone turned the lights on!
A statue without a name at Riverwalk.
Hey Alexa!
The Fort Lauderdale Fountain.
Again, the tree.
The archway to the Las Olas Riverfront.
A look down one of the streets in the historic area of Ft. Lauderdale.
