Tips for Taking the Test of Written English (TWE)

Immediately after you read the essay question, think about it before you start to
write. Making a brief outline or some notes on a separate piece of paper may
help you to organize your essay. You will be allowed to make notes in the TWE
          test book.

How well you write is much more important than how much you write, but to
cover the topic adequately, you will probably want to write more than one
          paragraph.

Write neatly and legibly. You will not be graded on the neatness of your
handwriting, but the raters who evaluate your essay must be able to read your
          handwriting.

Be sure to check your work. Read over your essay and make any necessary
          changes.
