| Please don't let the fire rain down on me.... | ||||||||||||
| Please don't let the fire rain down on me, For when it lathers my soul, It makes the sun go down. I hold the lightning of retribution firmly, And my thunderous shouts echo behind as a warning. Oh here comes dusk again, Calling out my name, And killing what freedom I have left. Hearken unto my sun, For it is dying wasted and alone. Bring to me whatever weariness you had left, And I will take it in your breath. If you make love upon my soul, I shall be strengthened, But still it cannot survive. My heart has melted like ice, The rock that is left is only stone, I can do no better nor no worse. The fiery pits of hell are beckoning, But still they survive only in eternal darkness. The serenity tiara I wore upon my crown, Was shattered long ago on the earthquake's floor. Many brightly coloured jewels were scattered upon the wind. Those winds now howl with my defience. Twisting, tormenting icy chills of numbing frost, I bring with me where my foot falls, Carrying my sceptar high in my hand. Woe, how have I befallen this fate I ride upon, It leaps and throws me to the ground. Now as I lay me down to sleep I pray, Please, don't let the fire rain down on me. |
