Inner Selves
I have met many of my inner selves...
My inner princess dreams of faraway places,
                      and romantic white knights.
My inner hermits retreats into a peaceful world,
                      and contemplate's life's questions.
My inner bad girl licks her lips seductively,
and moves in for the kill.
My inner mother takes the wounds under her wing,
and whispers sweet words that heal.
My inner slob likes to laze around doing nothing,
and let the junk pile up in my room.
My inner child wants to play with the world,
                      and grin cheekily at friends.
My inner dare devil thinks of travelling far away,
and bunjyjumping off the eiffel tower.
My inner animal urges me to tear down the street,
and play chasey in the park.
My inner spy eavesdrops on your conversations,
and tries to sweetalk information from you.
My inner paranoia claims everyone is watching me,
                      and laughing at my weaknesses.
My inner goody two shoes reminds me of my homework,
                      and that I should concentrate.
My inner miser becomes picky about my money,
                      and how I spend it.
My inner englishman is always proper,
                      and has perfect manners.
But My inner winner is occasionally vain,
                      and sometimes prone to exaggeration.
My inner witch is fond of all things mysterious,
and breathes a world of magic.
My inner weirdo enjoys the smell of petrol,
and thinks fondly of red cordial.
My inner demon thinks nastily of people,
                      and laughs wickedly at mistakes.
So My inner angel chastises him,
                      and smiles encouragingly.
But it is My inner dreamer that I like the most,
She tells me all these things are possible,
And takes me to wonderful worlds,
Where I can live out the dreams,
of any, or all, of my Inner Selves.
