| Your song and dance is a message to the best of us, That hard times will always travel the road of despair. And deep feelings run withing me. They want to burst free and race across your skin. The fiery depth of your eyes tells a tale of sorrow, The death of millions who have perished scream within your soul. And confused emotions flicker behind my eyes. They want to flash open and bathe you in golden light. The length of your shadow stretches into infinity, But it flickers, spirals and weaves across the countryside. And fear lurks in my own silent follower. It wants to break out into daylight and attach itself to you and I. The heat of life is carried within your touch, To warn that life is fleeting and should be cherished. And hidden desires tingle on my fingers. They want to reach forth and pull you close to me. The taste of lonliness is bitter upon your tongue, But you lick your lips as though it tastes sweet. And the harsh smell of worry sears my senses. It wants to spill forth from my mouth in a jumble of strange words. The heavy fog that surrounds your entire being, Holds and supports the walls that keep us apart. And deep cracks line the brickwork. They want to spread unhindered to topple mortar and stone. You and I reach forth, and pull back to feed the fog, Neither mind truly knows what drives us here. And longing urgers our hearts on. But they only wish ferverently to pull together as one. |
