Introduction

This website contains the summaries of diverse technologies that I have had the opportunity to use during the last years of my professional life. During those years I focused in becoming an expert in whatever I was using, and with that goal in mind developed material that would allow me not only to master the products in use but also to get the corresponding professional certification.

SAP

Right now I am specializing in SAP and supply chain management. As surely you already know, SAP is the market leader in Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) Systems with over 20 thousand systems sol worldwide, much ahead of the second place provider who has sold little more than 10 thousand systems. In this website you can find an introduction to SAP, its organizational structure, and summaries of the Material Management and Warehouse Management modules. Also I am including extensive documentation about the SAP sample company IDES, along with several lab practices using this company.

Supply Chain Management

SAP and any ERP system cannot be properly learned without having business training, preferably on Supply Chain Management. Here in this website I am including an introduction to Supply Chain Management developed out of several courses that I have taken in the business degree that I am pursuing: Bachelor of International Business and Supply Chain Management at Grant Macewan College.

SAP and Supply Chain Management will be the focus of this website, and more material will added on those topics.

.NET

Here you can find summaries that I developed to get a certification en Microsoft .NET technology. Beside practice, it helped to pass the exams having short and concise summaries of topics to learn. The day before the exam I used the put my summary (around 6 pages) in front of my -as a kind of poster- then at a glance I could recognize each one of the topics needed for the exam. It was a real bird-view of .NET. This helped me to no get lost in the diversity of things to know to ace the exam.

Before .NET, I had the opportunity to work with Microsoft ASP (Active Server Pages). I was coming from a client/server environment, so I summarized all the Wrox books in this technology.

Powerbuilder

Also you can find in this website a complete summary and cheat-sheet of powerbuilder 6.5. I considered myself an expert in this great product, and I dedicated a considerable amount of time studying all its printed documentation, buying books, and downloading samples and articles from the Internet. So far ism this is the technology in which I have spent most time and effort. After the dot com boom, Powerbuilder became less and less popular, which is a pity because I have not found a better product for software development. ADO.NET, from the Microsoft .NET technology, includes now some features that resemble the powerful Powerbuilder datastore and a ridiculous grid object that is not even close the Powerbuilder Datawindow.

I hope you can find some useful information in this website. If you are interested in learning the use of ERP systems, especially SAP, maybe we could team up. Drop me a line and let’s see what we can do.
