biographical sketch

Nationality: Dutch / Malaysian
Position: Post-doctoral researcher
Principle Investigator: George Church
Institution: Harvard Medical School
Ph.D. Completed: Nov. 2004
Raised in Malaysia, Japan and Singapore, I ended up in the
United States for college and graduate school. My interests lie
at the junction between basic research and practical application.
objective
To map, understand and exploit biological networks. This will be
achieved using two approaches. First, through the continuing
development and use of novel chemical means to perturb protein
functions. Second, through the design, modeling and implementation of
artificial biological circuits. In particular, my interest lies in the
development of modules that will interface with, and modulate natural
biological systems.
