| Wait 24 hours and then look at your list again. Revise it. Find supportive friends! "We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts we make our world." - The Buddha When I looked in the mirror, I saw everything I had become and everything I'd been, but the mirror couldn't show me all that I could become. It only showed me the past and the present. Transformation is all about taking a hold of your life and making positive changes with it. Transformation means you are taking the responsibility of creating or recreating your life. You ARE NOT WAITING for someone else to create it for you."What areas of your life need improving?" "What areas need more balance?" "What areas are you afraid of?" Write them all down. Now ask yourself these questions: "How do I want this area of my life to look like?" "What action can I take to improve that area, if I really counted in this area of my life?" "What obstacles do I initially see and what action plan can I come up with to conquer those obstacles?" "Do I need an inner, happier High Point outlook in this area?' "Do I need a greater sense of health & well being in this area?" Start mentally picturing yourself accomplishing the impossible, changing what couldn't be changed, reaching levels of confidence you never thought possible, feeling better that you ever dreamed! Go beyond the mirror to "all that could be." "Sure I am that this day we are masters of our fate, that the task which has been set before us is not above our strength; that it's pangs and toils are not beyond my endurance. As long as we have faith in our own cause and an unconquerable will to win, victory will not be denied us." - Winston Churchill Step 1: DECIDE to positively energize your unlimited resources of wisdom, compassion, enthusiasm & intensity for yourself, using Bill's 12 week, goal oriented Body for LIFE plan. The start of Chapter Six (page 32) "The Wisdom of Personal Change" of "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari" by Robin S. Sharma starts out with a quote from Suzuki, "I am an artist at living - my work of art is my life." In talking about the Mind, as "A Most Extraordinary Garden" (Chapter Seven, page 41), William James says, "Most people live - whether physically, intellectually or morally - in a very restricted circle of their potential being. We all have reservoirs of life to draw upon of which we do not dream." Page 48 (same Chapter), "to liberate the potential of your mind, body and soul, you must first expand your imagination." Page 50, "When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all of your thoughts break their bonds: your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive and you discover yourself to be a greater person than you ever dreamed yourself to be." Page 69, "There is nothing noble about being superior to some other person. True nobility lies in being superior to your former self." Chapter Eight, page 72 "Kindling Your Inner Fire" begins with a quote from Foster C. McClellan, "Trust yourself. Create the kind of life you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into the flames of achievement." Chapter Nine, page 93 "The Ancient Art of Self-Leadership" begins with Confucious saying, "Good people strengthen themselves ceaselessly." Then, on page 99 it talks about growing the most when you enter "the Zone of the Unknown," where we find true human potential beyond our limits, outside of our circle of comfort and where we unlock mental and physical reserves we never thought we had. Then, still in this chapter on page 110 it mentions that there are 168 hours in a week, and that "at least five of those hours should be invested in some form of physical activity" since "as you care for the body so you care for the mind. As you prepare your body, so you prepare your mind. As you train your body, so you train your mind. Take some time every single day to nourish the temple of your body through vigorous exercise." "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari" goes on to talk about the importance of "Self-Talk, Self-Control, Discipline, and Building Will Power" and gives great statistics such as the average child laughs 300 times per day; yet the average adult laughs only 15 times per day. Clearly, our world both personal and outward are in need of some major repairs! Big time! We need to look at every area that touches our life and be open-minded to all the "could be possibilities!" Chapter Eleven, page 159 "Your Most Precious Commodity" begins with "Well arranged time is the surest mark of a well arranged mind," by Sir Isaac Pitman. Then Robin brings his most excellent book to conclusion with, "We are all here for some special reason. Stop being a prisoner of your past. Become the architect of your future." "The indispensible first step to getting the things you want in this life is this: Decide what you want." - Ben Stein |
