Historical:

The first paratroop company was founded on 10.6.1940, the second in 1942 and a third, support weapons company, in 1943. They formed the 4th Parachute Battalion. By 10.1943, only 215 men were fully trained. Although 1300 paratroops had been trained by the time the Soviets ordered the unit's disbandment in 2.1944, only 4th Parachute Bat. (861 men) had reached operational status by 8.1944.
