• 23.8.44: grouped in Arad - Ineu area.
• 24.8-4.9.44: in defence on the rivers Bega and Timis, between Ortisoara (with Detasament Nord: Centrul Instructie Jandarmi, Reg.1 Art.Căl.), Timisoara (with Detasament Centru: Reg.5 Vân.Instr, Reg.1 Art.Instr.), Jebel (with Detasament Sud: Reg.2 Rosiori, Reg.6 Art.Căl). The reserve was formed by Bat.5 Instructie-Auto (in Izvin) and Reg.17 Inf.Instr (in Lugoj). The mission was to forbid the enemy's access towards Timisoara.
• 7(13?).9.44: it handed over the defence of Timisoara to Div.9 Cav; moved to Ineu area.
• 13.9.44: deployed on the line of Chisineu Cris (with I/Reg.85), Pâncota (with Reg.85), Ineu (with Scoala Ofiteri Rezervă), Beliu (with Reg.93).
• 13.9.44: the offensive of the Hungarian 10th Inf.Division faced the opposition of the Div. 1 Inf.Inst. at Macea, Pâncota, Siria, Tăgău, Sebis, Beliu and Prunisor; finally the attack was stopped by 18(17?).9.44 on the line of Donceni, S of Sebis, Bârsa, Silindia, Tăut.
• 19(18?).9.44: counterattack (together with the Soviet 203 Division), started from the line of Silindia - Tăut towards Pâncota - Vărsand; the Div. 1 Inf.Inst. liberated Sebis, Prunisor, Ineu and Pâncota.
• 24.9.44: withdrawn from the front of Zerind - Vărsand and moved to Salonta.
• 25.9.44: arrived on the Crisul Negru river, between Talpos - Tămasda; then it liberated Ghiorac and Arpăsel.
• 26.9.44: the division liberated Salonta and Ciumeghiu.
• 27.9.44: arrived in Salonta - Kötegyán area.
• 28.9.44: it seized the line of Újvaros - Okány - Sarkadkeresztúr (an advanced position face to the neighbouring divisions).
• 29.9.44: it retreated to Mezögyán, Ciumeghiu area.
• 30.9-1.10.44 (29.9-4.10.): during the German counterattack S of Oradea, the Div. 1 Inf.Inst. remained on defence positions on the Crisul Negru river, initially between Belfit and Tămasda, then between Talpos and Zerind.
• 5.10.44: again in action, Salonta is re-occupied by the Cavalry Corps.
• 6.10.44: regrouped together with the Cavalry Corps (at the disposal of the Soviet Cavalry Army), moved to Gyula - Békés.
• 8.10.44: grouped in Békéscsaba area.
• 10.10.44: in action together with D.1 Cav.Instr, Div.8 Cav and the Soviet 110^th Inf.Division, in Nagybajom, Nagyrábé area.
• -16.10.44: on defence positions between Nagy Bajom - S of Nagyrábé.
• 18.10.44: W of Bihartorda.
• 19-20.10.44: in advance through Földes - Hajdúszoboszló to the W of Debrecen (Kishegyes area).
• 22.10.44: advance to Hajdúböszörmény, then to the north.
• 27.10.44: counterattack with Reg.5 Vânători NW of Hajdúböszörmény, securing the liaison between the Soviet 78^th Inf.Division and the Romanian Div. 3 Munte.
• 31.10.44: regrouped in Hajdúnádás area, then moved to Hajdúszoboszló. (Hajdúszvát?), as the MSM reserve.
• 6.11.44: the Cavalry Corps disbanded in Hajdúszvát area.

• 11.44: disbanded and merged with Div. 19 Inf. (Instructiuni 70200 / 1.11.44). The material & archives were handed over as follows:
  • Regimentul 17 Infantertie to Regimentul 96 Infanterie.
  • Regimentul 5 Vânători to Regimentul 94 Infanterie.
  • Regimentul 85 Infanterie to Batalionul 21 V.M.
