ASSIGNMENTS TO HIGHER UNITS.

DEPLOYMENT AREA / OPERATIONAL PERIOD.

1944.

• 5.9.44: formed from various units under Soviet command.
• 6.9.44: in actions against German troops in Berzunţi Massif, N of the Siret junction with Trotuş rivers (N of ONEŞTI - ADJUD, in Bacău county).
• then passed to the Soviet 24th Guard Corps reserve, it crossed the Ciuc and Gurghiu Mountains into Northern Transylvania.

• 16.9.44: arrived after a 170 km march, N of Eremitu / MS (20 km SE of REGHIN). Introduced in the first line, between the Soviet 6^th and 72^nd Inf.Divisions, with the mission to attack from the line Urisiu de Jos / MS, Chiherul de Sus / MS, to the direction Petelea-Reghin (reinforced with the Soviet 114^th Antitank Art.Regiment).
• 18.9.44: Div.103 Mte. defeated the enemy defence and advanced 4 km up to N of Nadăşa / MS.
• 19.9.44: heavy fightings following a German counter-attack. Finally the German withdrew (under the common pressure of Div.103 Mte. and the Soviet 6^th Div., with the help of the Romanian Armoured Detachment).
• 27/28.9.44: the German troops withdrew on all the front, Div.103 Mte. begun their pursuit, the units of the first echelon reached in the evening Petelea / MS, on the Mureş (8 km S of REGHIN).
• 29.9.44: Div.103 Mte. passed in the MSM reserve.
• 12.10.44: disbanded.
