| Danes Travel Softball Program Coaching Roles The Danes will be adding coaches to their 2004 Coaching Staff. The following roles are available and we would like to fill them during the winter months: 18-and-under First Assistant Coach 18-and-under Assistant Coach 18/16 Pitching Coach/Assistant Coach 16-and-under Assistant Coach All Coaching roles will be under overall supervision of Tim Husted however 16U coaches will directly be managed by the 16U Head Coach -- Katie Hamilton. Coaching Stipends are between $600-700 and will be paid in two installments. Also all hotel room stay expenses are covered for coaches. Coaching Role Expectations: Expectations of coaches to receive full stipend is to attend at least 4 of 5 regular season events and the week long trip to Nationals. The season runs from the middle of June till the first week of August and are scheduled on Friday/Saturday/Sunday with the exception for the preseason clinic to be held on June 16-18th and the end of season week long trip to Nationals (in Raleigh, NC). Tournaments are held in Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota and coaches are expected to arrange their own transportation although many times car pools are available. Coaches will be expected to prepare for practices, games and tournaments Coaches will be expected to scout opponents for future games with the help of the players Coaches will be expected to submit player evaluations each week Each coach will be assigned a set number of players to prepare, organize and compile a final evaluation and weekly touch base sessions. Assistant and Top Assistant Coaches will also be assigned a program goal where they will be evaluating and preparing training, drills and practice sessions surrounding their area of focus Assistant Coaches will share player supervision responsibilities around hotel stays and lights out Other expectations will be assigned by the Head Coach closer to the season start Qualifications Strong desire to be a role model and develop softball and life skills in the Danes players Strong softball background as a fastpitch player required Successful coaching experience preferred Coaching aspirations in future occupation is desired but not required Understanding if the game and ability to teach both game and skill techniques are a must Willingness to work within an established and successful coaching model Ability to work as part of a coaching staff where respect, adaptability, flexibility and teamwork is stressed Interested Candidates Send a resume (can be informal) which includes previous playing and coaching experience as well as educational experience and other current work experience.
