Shears

I bought some old rusty trimming shears from the salvation army. I think I will make them into knives. Here are the blades just after I drilled the rivets to get them off the handle.

Soak them in vinegar for some time, and give them a bit of a rub with steel wool, and presto! Much nicer now. None of that orange stuff.

Longer blade, shorter tang? Shorter tang, longer blade? What to do? I traced the blades, and doodled some ideas as to what to aim for in the final product. These drawings are just a suggestion. it will likely not look much like that when finished.
