Swim with the Dolphins!

The Beachcomber Parkroyal has a unique activity for those so inclined. For a fee you can swim with the dolphins. How you say ??? Well, let me tell ya.. Dolphin Quest is an organization devoted to the education and resarch of dolphins. Dolphin Quest has 4 locations around the globe. Bermuda, Moorea, and 2 in Hawaii.

Here you can see that class is in session.The 'instructor" is pointing out  certain points of the dolphin anatomy. The "students" get to wear funny plastic shoes to avoid the native "stone fish" and sharp rocks and coral in the lagoon.

Think of it as an interactive Sea World. Rather than sitting in the crowd and watching the dolphin swim and splash, you are in the water with the "fish" (I know.. Dolphins are mammals). They even do tricks for you. Nancy and I had just gotten off the Jetski and were a little too worn out to do the "dolphin thing", but we watched with enthusiasm as others participated. Next time...
