MY BARBIE MAKEOVERS PAGE DOS
This is the first doll I ever made over. She is an Oriental Barbie that I picked up at Toys R Us.  She has very long hair so I decided to experience with upsweeps, creating this beehive style.  I used a Barbie pattern to make the dress, because I had never sewn a stitch at that time.  I made the headpiece, and the necklace out of little beads from the craft store.  The picture is a bit dark because her dress actually has kind of a starry night print on it that you don't see in the pic.
My First Makeover
Molded Hair Makeover
Take a good look at this doll.  Look familiar?  She is the same Barbie as the doll above. (My first makeover)  This time I chopped all that long hair off and gave her a short sleek style using acryllic modeling paste and paint.  I changed her make-up using paint to make her look a lil' more exotic.  She wears pants, a fleece-like shirt, and scarf. The look is completed with the coat trimmed in fur and a purse.  I made the entire outfit by hand. The only thing I did not make are the earrings, which are just real stud earrings for ladies.  I like making jewelry the least because it is so tedious and sometimes it just doesn't look sophisticated enough.  So I often resort to pins and real earrings in small scale.
TLC
These are the first "Celebrity" dolls I have ever created.  It is hard to recreate a real person so they are probably  more charecture like than realistic.  I have always been a fan of TLC, and they were so unique I thought "Who better to try to make!!" I recreated the outfits worn by the girls in the photo pictured to the right of them.  Both Tionne and Lisa have all new hair which of course took forever.  Chili was a lil' easier because she just needed a hair dye and some curls.  I added blue paint to Left Eye to make wild eye shadow.
Barbie is a trademark of Mattel.
