Development Work

BusSched - I wrote and maintain the open source app for Palm OS and Pocket PC devices to display Dublin Bus schedules.
CubeMap - An online perl/CGI/JavaScript application to combine a phone list with a map of employee locations.

Volunteering Roles

Special Olympics Ireland - I am on the small team of maintainers for the site.
TheBestStoreInTheWorld.com - I helped customize the osCommerce PHP code on this charity site to change it from an online shopping site to a referral site. I continue to help the site owner.
Christ the King Girls' School - I designed and implemented the original website in early 2003.
Special Olypics World Games 2003 - I was a regular volunteer during the games in June 2003. I did data entry of results. It was tough but satisfying work. The volunteers really combined their efforts to make it all work. Attending the closing ceremony in Croke Park was a great reward.
Special Olypics pictures - I created a site with my pictures from the golf events and got others to send their pictures to me. This was the first site of mine that ever exceeded its hourly download limit!
I volunteer for the National Council for the Blind of Ireland and, once a month I bring a loaner Tieman Clearview CCTV (a sort of magnifier) from one person's house to another's. This item is for people who are visually impaired. It magnifies at least 10x. The recipients LOVE the magnifier - many who haven't been able to read books or the newspaper for years now can.
