| Angelina Rose Mollo was the name my grandmother gave to my mother. While growing up, her father gave her a nickname, Dolly. Dolly stuck throughout the rest of her life and was also my mother's name preference. Many people knew her with both names, some only knew her as Dolly. She had a gift that is found so rare in the everyday people we meet. She had an understanding of standing in another's shoes, and she had the compassion that would stand the test of time. She never hardened, and was always accepting. Mom had a sixth sense that is also rarely found in most people. She could read a complete stranger like a book, at the first eye contact. And she could see into their soul and see the greatness and the sorrow of many individuals. Mom would tell me that this was not a gift, but a curse as she would cry for people, and would also see things she wished she hadn't seen. Because of these gifts, she won the hearts of all, from infant to elderly. Mom had many talents. Her greatest was her beautiful saprano singing voice. She sang to us till our ears got sore, but never out of tune. Mom could sew drapes on a rocking horse if she was asked. I have many wonderful duvet covers that she made specifically to match each sheet set. These represent pure talent. She would knit adorable little sweaters for her neice and nephews and for friends' children as well. continue to more memory pages ---------> |
| This note was in the midst of some papers we found. We called it her 'diary' books. There were many loose papers with notes and antedotes. This was just one of many. |
