On July 7, 2001 a group of us gathered for what was to be the "First Annual Summer Picnic" at Jeann's in Petaluma. And what a wonderful picnic it was.Jean and her husband are the proud owners of a true life 50's diner/soda fountain. With the black and white tile floor, pink booths, juke box, great neon signs and yes, a full working soda fountain.

Everyone brought wonderful items to share for lunch which we had outside on the patio. The patio, by the way, was large enough to seat all of us very comfortably and looked out over a large grassy area which would be great for badmiton, volly ball, or croquet. And along the fence tucked in between the trees and shrubbery were numerous pink flamingos!

Before we left all of us decided we just had to have one group picture. Jeann and Ern's husbands were gracious enough to take numerous pictures of the group. Of course just about everyone had a camera with them. By the way, these two men also were our great soda jerks that day and made some of the best banana splits, milk shakes and ice cream sundaes!
