23. Write your own biography, with a
little Beatlified touch. Topic is
"How did I become a Beatlefan/maniac".
Write as much as you wish to....I
expect atleast 200 words. Include the
following things
in it:
* 3 most favorite Beatles albums
* 10 most favorite Beatles songs
* Your least favorite Beatle song(s)
(why?)
I was a normal child, until one day I
found a marvelous LP with an incredible
cover... I saw it and thought "man, this
gotta be great!" When I listened to it,
I felt I was hooked for life. I heard a
voice that would be printed forever in
my soul and it sang "It was twenty years
ago today, Sgt. Pepper taught the band
to play, they've been going in and out
of style, but they guarantee to raise a
smile" and boy, did they raise a smile
on my face... From them on I only wanted
to know more and more about this band, I
even tried to do better on my English
skills so I'd understand better what
they were saying, and they completely
changed my life. In 1994 I was a hippie
taken from Spielberg's Beatlemania. My
first CD was "Revolver" and it was too
much for my head, when I heard "Love you
too" I thought I was going to cry!
Today, my favorite Beatles albums are:
Rubber Soul, White Album and... ummm...
it's hard not to say all of them...
maybe I could mention Beatles For Sale.
My favorite songs are hard to tell, I
have like phases, times when I perfer
this one and times when my favorite is
that other... Today, I could say I love
Sexy Sadie, Rocky Raccoon, Drive My Car,
Cry Baby Cry, Happy Just to Dance with
You, ah guys don't make me do this, I
feel I betray the other songs if I
mention just 10 of them. However I can
mention some I dislike, and those are
"Old brown shoe", "The long and winding
road", "Revolution 9" and maybe i could
say a couple more, but I don't remember
at the moment. I think they're boring to
hell.
24. You can also add something about the
image of Beatles in your country. What
it was during the 60s and how is it now.
Do you believe beatles can attract more
fans, now that the band is no more and
two members are dead? Justify your
reasoning.
In my country The Beatles were a band
that had many fans, but I think it was
more like a "high cultural status" band,
for those that spoke English. Others
just preferred songs in Spanish. Today
there are still many of those 60's teens
that are in love with the band even them
being 50 yrs old now, and there are many
youngsters like myself that follow the
Beatle Religion. I don't think that the
death of George and John can make the
band be less attractive... Hey! I was
born in 1982!! John died 2 years before that
and it never was a problem for me to be a
total maniac.
25. What other artists/bands do you
recommend to a beatlefan?
I HIGHLY recommend Elliot Smith. He's
great and very beatlish.
26. Do you play any instrument(s)? If so
what?
No, none :(
27. What do you think is the role and
purpose of #Beatles? What should it be?
What should we do to serve the fans?
I think #Beatles exists to gather us
together... My heart felt filled when I
felt I was not alone in my dedication
and love to the Greatest Band of all
times!!
28. Who are the people you often see in
the channel? Are they friendly, arrogant
or ignorant? Feel free to make any
comment.
The people I often see in the channel
are Stefo (he's sooo sweet) Kenny (great
friend) and Debs (she's the greatest
too). I also see others but they don't
talk too much.
29. Anything Else???Final Thoughts?..?:
I want to say that it'd be nice if we
some time arranged to meet in a
Beatlefest in Liverpool... planning with
time, I think we could make it! Can you
imagine!??? THE DREAM IS NOT OVER.
That was what _Yoko told about herself....now to add something more, let's hear what dmr's (Dead_Man_Rollin) got to say:
I still remember my first day at #beatles. It was some time around January'99. I was a new chatter then..didn't know what to say, didn't know what to do. I was collecting beatles music in a crazy manner, at that time. Suddenly the idea struck my mind--there must be a #beatles. I brought up the mirc channels folder, and added #beatles ( I didn't even know the usage of /join #channel at that time). I joined and found a person with the nick Digitalconfusious. I said hi...hello...but No Reply. After a while, _yoko came in. She was talking to me...in a very friendly manner. I was thrilled to know that I am not the only beatlefan around, and she was really thrilled to know a person from the opposite part of the world. I bothered her with the question: How to become an op, and yet she explained it to me in a very polite tone. I too, cherish the dream of meeting someday...with everyone. Throughout the years, I've always seen her in a happy and cheerful manner, smiling a lot, and bringing smiles in our faces. Only one day I saw her sad--the day George died.
